Laudamus Choir Fordingbridge

Laudamus Choir Fordingbridge A friendly chamber choir rehearsing weekly in term time with regular performances and social events

Laudamus Chamber Choir was formed in 1991 to deputise at services in Cathedrals, Priories, Abbeys and Greater Churches when their own choirs are on holiday. Over the years, the choir’s repertoire has expanded to include light and secular as well as sacred music, enabling the choir to perform for charity events and other occasions such as weddings and funerals. Under founding Musical Director, Andr

ew Johnson, Laudamus made tours to Holland, Italy, Hungary and France as well as regular visits to Cathedrals throughout the UK. This tradition continued under Musical Director, Kit Hobkirk until his departure to Scotland in July 2018. Laudamus was pleased to welcome Andrew Hanley as Musical Director in January 2019. Andrew has led Laudamus successfully through the pandemic and, with his extensive knowledge of choral music, continues to expand Laudamus’ repertoire. The choir, a group of friends who sing together, has around 25 singers and rehearses on Monday evenings in term time at St Mary’s Church, Fordingbridge.
