Do read the English sermon as l will not be preaching on the Gospel.

On the back of the bulletin is an article in Greek about the miracle of Archangel Michael at Colossae, which the Church remembers on September 6th.
At one time the local people tried to destroy a church in Colossae in Asia Minor (St Paul had written a letter to the Colossian Christians). They tried to divert the course of two rivers against the church, but the Archangel appeared and, by means of the Cross and a great earthquake, he turned the waters into an underground course.
After that the name of the place was changed from Colossae to Chonae, which means "funnels" in Greek.

Fr David and the committee of St Mark & St Fotini Folkestone would like to thank all those who attended our Feast day today. In particular we would like to thank Fr Konstantinos and Deacon Catalin for joining us (and all the fresh fruit he brought with him) A wonderful day to celebrate the Feast of St Fotini. Also thanks to Paraschos for organising a coach trip of Pilgrims who joined us from London.
Further thanks to everyone who made a dish for our lovely lunch and those who helped to make the day a lovely special celebration.
