On Easter Sunday, Dave Morgan was enrolled as an adherent member of the church. He was supported by his two sons and their families. Dave spoke of how, despite some difficult years, God has always been there with him and how he now felt able to settle down with the church fellowship.

☝️Welcome, officers!

On Sunday (1 Feb) we welcomed Major Ann and Iain Stewart as our new corps officers.

In the installation ceremony held by Major Matt Butler, they stood proudly before the army flag and congregation to say “I promise” for their service to God in Folkestone.

May God bless the new chapter for Major Ann and Iain here in Folkestone, and give them joy, strength and wisdom in the ministry.

Retired Bandmaster David West was recognised for 75 years of service with Folkestone Band. Divisional Leader Major Tracey Palmer presented him with a certificate and a ribbon.

David was first introduced to the Corps by a School friend, at the age of fourteen. Since then, he has played a central role in the ministry of the band. Although the band is much smaller now, he continues play and take an active part. Acknowledging the award, David said that, every morning, he thanks God for another day to serve Him.

First photos shows David with Major Tracey Palmer and band leader James West (no relation).

Second shows the current Folkestone Band - Bryan Wong, David West, Major Peter West (again, no relation) and Band leader James West.

Please pray for our General

By now, many will have heard that I had a medical incident whilst celebrating the 95th anniversary with Hong Kong salvationists.
I was admitted to hospital where I received excellent intervention and treatment, in the form of heart angioplasty to clear a blocked artery.
I have responded to this procedure well and am expected to make a full recovery.
I have been discharged from hospital and am now resting, awaiting a follow up consultation with the cardiologist next Monday.
Bronwyn and I express our heartfelt gratitude for the many prayers and messages of support we have received since Saturday.
Our thanks to Territorial Leaders, Colonels Phil and Deslea Maxwell for their tremendous care and support.
We feel wrapped in the love of the global Salvation Army and give thanks to God for His providential care 🙏
