185 YEARS, AND THE STORY CONTINUES

One church. Many generations. Countless stories.

Since 1841, Christ Church has witnessed the transformation of open countryside into a thriving community.

It has welcomed children, supported schools, celebrated marriages and baptisms, mourned with grieving families, remembered those lost in war and provided a home for worship, friendship and service.

The Vestry Hall, added in the 1960s, continues to be used by church and community groups—another reminder that Christ Church remains a living part of local life. (C C Crookham)

How do you celebrate a 100-year-old organ? 🎶

With music, of course!

We’re delighted to introduce Zachary Bryan, who will be helping us celebrate a very special milestone for our church organ as it reaches its 100th year.

A century of music, worship and memories is certainly something worth celebrating. Watch the video to find out more, and keep an eye on our page for details of what’s coming.

THE WYVERN AND A PLACE TO MEET

Church life has never been confined to the church building.

One fascinating local story concerns Christ Church, local residents and the development of the Wyvern as a community meeting place.

Public online sources confirm that the Wyvern has been part of Church Crookham since at least the mid-twentieth century, but we have not yet located a reliable published account establishing precisely how the church was involved in its planning or construction. (Francis Frith)

That makes this an ideal moment to ask the community.

SERVING ALL THE SCHOOLS OF OUR PARISH

Our care for children and young people reaches beyond one school.

Christ Church values its historic relationship with Crookham CE Infant School while also seeking to support the wider family of schools serving Church Crookham and the surrounding parish.

These include Church Crookham Junior School on Tweseldown Road, Tweseldown Infant School, Court Moor School and other nearby schools serving local children and families. (Hampshire County Council)

Through visits, seasonal services, collective worship, pastoral support and community events, churches and schools can work together to help every child feel valued.
