This is the day. Psalm 118 reminds us that right now, this moment, this breath, this stillness is a gift God has handcrafted with purpose. Whatever today may hold for us, we step into it with gratitude, courage, and expectation. Whether it’s a day with challenges or ease, happiness or sadness, peace or busyness, today will not define you but it’s a gift for us to take the day by the horns and have confidence that we will get through whatever it holds.

“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”

We ran a one-day holiday club for the first time this summer called “The Big Adventure” and we had a great time!

The Big Adventure was exactly that; a bright, joy‑filled day where a number of young people stepped into the story of Jesus calling Peter to become a fisher of people and discovered what it looks like to share God’s love in real life.

We turned the church into a mini‑ocean of creativity, with a big boat made out of cardboard in the middle of our church space. Through craft, the children made colourful fish, prayer beads, painted our own ocean scenes, made our own little aquarian and much more! Our activities took the story off the page; with challenges, storytelling games, and moments of quiet time helped explore how Jesus invites us to look out for others, welcome new faces, and make church a place where everyone feels safe and seen.

Most beautifully, we talked about what it means to be kind, to notice people who might feel left out, and to be brave enough to help someone who needs it. The kids shared their own ideas and showed us that “The Big Adventure” isn’t just a holiday club theme, it’s the way Jesus calls us to live every day.

A great first ever holiday club and a lovely day full of laughter, learning, and little hearts growing big in love. What an adventure indeed.

WHAT’S ON IN SEPTEMBER…
We can’t wait for this new term of activities and being available fully after the summer. September sees some usual programmed events restart and some really exciting new things starting. Scroll along the images to see more…

Here is a list of what’s on in September. Starting on the 1st… we have prayer breakfast from 9:30am and Community Wardrobe.

Here are some of the one-off and once-a-month activities on in September; including being on the Faversham Markets at the end of the month. Also, we say goodbye and celebrate Scott’s new adventure when he heads to the Salvation Army’s training college to train to be a minister.

One of our amazing young people is doing a sponsored silence at our coffee morning on the 24th August to raise much needed funds for our friends at the Faversham Foodbank.

Good morning! We are back after a programme Sabbath Weekend coffee morning will be running from 10am today.

Pop along from 10am for a time of community, a space to be creative or read, and a space for young people to have some play time ❤️

This week, Faversham Salvation Army are having our bi-annual rest week meaning there is no usual activity taking place to allow space for our Church, including our community and team to rest and refresh this Summer, after the busyness.

Sabbath is not a programme or a list of tasks.

It’s a holy pause; where God does the renewing, not us. It is important as followers of Jesus that we take regular time to stop ‘doing’ and just ‘be’ with Him, resting in His presence.

Programme will be back with Coffee Morning Monday 17th August 2026.

SUMMER COMMUNITY WARDROBE SESSIONS!!!
Come along to one of our open sessions, browse our wide range of pre-loved school uniform (branded and unbranded items available) during this summer holiday!

Our ‘Kids Corner’ is also available with activities, reading and craft (plus some toys and puzzles) to keep the little ones occupied.

Good morning Faversham!
This morning from 10am we have our coffee morning until midday. Feel free to bring your children as we will have the Kids Korner all open with toys, colouring etc. available.

Tomorrow, from 9:30am until 11:00am then again from 1:30pm until 4pm, Community Wardrobe Faversham will be open for the first of the Summer Holiday sessions. Pop along and donate your old uniform items and grab the items you may need for the upcoming new school year!
