Children’s Liturgy Leaders' Morning ~
A morning of prayer and reflection for Children’s Liturgy leaders will be held on Saturday 12 September, from 9:00am-midday, at The Gillis Centre, 100 Strathearn Road, Edinburgh, EH9 1EE. The event will begin with Mass in St Margaret’s
Chapel, celebrated by Fr Adrian Porter SJ, followed by sessions on reading and reflecting on the Gospels and on personal prayer. Register now at bit.ly/kidliturgyevent
Venerable Margaret Sinclair Pilgrimage ~
This year's pilgrimage takes place on Sunday 20 September at St Patrick's Church in The Cowgate, Edinburgh. Schedule: 12:30pm - Sale of candles & goods, refreshments; 1:30pm - Holy Hour (exposition and benediction); 3:00pm - Reflection from Canon Jock Dalrymple; 4:30pm - Mass celebrated by Archbishop Cushley (Homilist: Fr Michael John Galbraith).
Anyone who would like transport from the parish going to St. Patricks please put your name on the list at the back of the church.
National Youth Pilgrimage ~
The National Youth Pilgrimage (for ages 18–35) will take place on Saturday 26 September 2026 at Pluscarden Abbey. This year’s pilgrimage will focus on religious and monastic life and will include a tour of the Abbey, a Q&A with the monks, talks on vocation, and a Vigil Mass with Archbishop Cushley. Young people are invited to travel with the Archdiocese. To register or enquire, please contact [email protected].
Mass with the African community ~
Celebrate Mass with the African community in Fife at 2:00pm on Sunday 20 September at St Margaret’s Catholic Church, East Port, Dunfermline. Light refreshments will follow in the parish hall after Mass. All welcome.
Poverty in Scotland: can we do more? ~
An event to dive into the reality of poverty in Scotland. We’ll hear from a range of speakers working on the frontline, discuss what’s being done and explore ways we can do more to help. It’s a chance to connect, share ideas, and spark change. It takes place on Saturday 3 October, 10:30am-4:00pm at, The Gillis Centre, 100 Strathearn Road, Edinburgh, EH9 1BB. Volunteer to Support Children with Special Needs in Edinburgh ~
Three new adult volunteers are needed for the newly forming Children SPRED (Special Religious Development) group meeting at George Square in Edinburgh on Fridays from 3pm-4pm. The spiritual programme for children with special needs fosters communion with Jesus Christ within the Catholic community of faith. Please contact Sister Mary Benedicta Maier, RSM ([email protected]) if you are interested in learning about becoming a SPRED volunteer catechist for this new Edinburgh children's group.
National Safeguarding Conference ~
'Sacred Spaces - Safer Places: a call to action' is the theme of the National Safeguarding Conference taking place in Glasgow on Saturday 7 November 2026. The day provides an opportunity for all involved in Safeguarding Catholic faith communities in Scotland to gather and reflect on what we can all do to make our faith communities safer. Pastoral Letter on Assisted Su***de ~
Bishop John Keenan, President of the Bishops’ Conference of Scotland’s Marriage, Family and Life Office, has issued a pastoral letter ahead of the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill returning to the House of Commons on 11 September. He urges you to contact your MP and ask them to vote against the Bill, while also encouraging prayer and support for those who are seriously ill, their families and carers. World Youth Day 2027 ~
World Youth Day takes place in Seoul, South Korea, from 1-9 August 2027. Young adults are invited to travel with the Archdiocese of St Andrews & Edinburgh: Departure 1 August and return on 9 August 2027. For more information email [email protected]
National Pilgrimage to Whithorn ~
Mass will be celebrated on the beach at 4:00pm on Sunday 30 August, by Bishop Frank Dougan (Galloway Diocese). For those unable to walk to the beach, there will be Mass at 4:45pm in St Martin and St Ninian's Church, Whithorn, celebrated by Bishop Joseph Toal (Motherwell Diocese).

The Annual Day for Altar Servers takes place on Saturday 5 September from 10:30am to 3:00pm at The Gillis Centre in Edinburgh. Please speak to Fr Cletus for details.
March for Life - travel offer ~
