☕❤️ Meet & Brew – More Than Just a Coffee Morning

Every Wednesday at Kerith Farnborough, something special happens.

What started as a simple community café has become a place of friendship, belonging and connection. With 14–20 people regularly attending each week, Meet & Brew is often buzzing with conversation, laughter, board games (some very competitive! 🎲), the occasional quiz, and plenty of tea and coffee.

For many who come, it’s much more than a drop-in. Many live alone and value having a place where they are known, welcomed and accepted. It’s become a community where people can simply be themselves.

One attendee recently shared:

“I’ve been to many churches, but at Kerith I have found a warm welcome and acceptance. You practice what you preach in providing a safe and caring place for me. I feel loved. Such wonderful people.”

We were also delighted to recently run the Belonging Course: Building Belonging in a Lonely World, which proved really popular. We’re looking forward to running more courses later this year, as well as creating more opportunities for prayer within our Meet & Brew sessions.

In a world where loneliness is increasingly common, we’re grateful for a place where people can find friendship, community and hope.

On Sunday we welcomed Lisa & Brent Owens to share about their ministry, the ‘Finding Hope in Depression’ course. Lisa shared her own testimony of finding hope and healing, and her desire to share with others what she learnt in that season.

Designed for those with mild to moderate depression and/or anxiety, on the course you can expect a safe and confidential space, where its ok to not be ok. The course is not group therapy, but is empowering, equipping and educating you to be apart of your own recovery - or support someone else who is recovering from anxiety/depression.

Each course is led by trained facilitators and features expert guest speakers covering topics such as:

☀️ What depression is and how it affects the mind and body
☀️ Therapies and approaches that can aid recovery
☀️ Brain chemistry, medication, and neuroplasticity
☀️ The impact of nutrition on mental health
Managing anxiety and learning mindfulness techniques
☀️ The role of exercise, routines, and self-care in moving forward

In the future we hope to be able to offer an in person course at Kerith Farnborough, but there is opportunity later this month to join the online course on the following dates:

🗓️ Tuesday 23rd June 2026
18:30 - 21:30

🗓️ Wednesday 24th June 2026
18:30 - 21:30

🗓️ Thursday 25th June 2026

See you at 10am tomorrow for this message from our Senior Pastor in the adult meeting - kids and youth groups happening also. It’s going to be a great morning at church!

Across all the sites of Kerith this weekend, we'll be hearing from our Senior Pastor, Simon Benham, as he preaches from Waverley Abbey. This weekend marks the beginning of our partnership with the 24-7 Prayer Network, and we'd love for you to come and discover the heart behind why we are joining this great movement and what that may mean for us as a church.

God has been so kind to us, and we want to be generous and bless others also by tithing 10% of the money raised for our building fund.

Why not take a read of our latest blog detailing how we have been able to give money to other causes and charities from our building fund. Find out a little more about our committee - AND find out also how you can apply for money from the fund! In particular we would love to invite local and national causes to apply, as we have given to a few global charities recently. To ensure consideration at the next meeting, please submit your proposal by the end of Sunday 24 May - any we receive after this will still be considered, but at a later date.

Please do share this post, or tag anyone who may be interested!
