You may be aware of the tragic accident yesterday at the Big Church Festival in West Sussex, where a 41-year old man died and at least six others were injured after a large sign collapsed into a crowd during high winds.

In previous years people from this church have attended, Previous members of this church were on-site when the accident happened, I have spoken to them this afternoon, they are safe at home but shocked by what happened. We will be praying for all those affected in our prayers of intercession in our service Sunday morning.

Our friends at St John’s Lock Heath, also had a number of their congregation present, thankfully all have returned safely. In light of this, St John’s wanted to create an opportunity for worship, prayer and reflection. They are holding a special service at 6pm this Sunday evening and invite anyone who would like to join them to go along, as they gather together to reflect on the events of Friday, pray for those affected, and to give thanks for God’s protection and presence. Anyone is welcome to go along and join in.
