Today at the meeting of the Lay Chairs from across the Archdeaconry I had the opportunity to thank Mary Lewis for her years of faithful service to the Deanery, Archdeaconry and Diocese.
Mary has served for many years as Lay Chair, first with Hoxne deanery and then following a merger, with Hartismere and Hoxne deanery. Mary has also held a variety of other roles. Mary is stepping down in July and I and the Archdeaconry team of Lay Chairs and Rural Deans will miss her wisdom and wise counsel. Mary has been such a support and an encourager and we thank God for her ministry. Diocese of St Edmundsbury & Ipswich

It's the last day today, Bank Holiday Monday, of a wonderful Art Exhibition at Stradbroke Church IP21 5HU. In its 32nd year of raising money for the church.
Fabulous works of art by local artists and it is so comfortably cool in there. Definitely the place to be today! Delicious refreshments too.
Open until 5pm.
