🌟 Songs of Praise – This Sunday at 5pm 🌟

Join us this Sunday at 5pm for our Songs of Praise service. We’ll start with tea and cake, then enjoy a relaxed service of worship together.

Each song has been chosen by a member of our church family, and we’ll hear a little about why that song is special to them.

It’s a lovely, welcoming service and a great one to invite a friend to. We’d love to see you there! ☕🍰🎶

We’re so grateful to everyone involved in keeping our community safe this week — emergency services, military personnel, council staff, LED team and all those working behind the scenes.

Thank you for your professionalism, calm leadership, and care while residents were evacuated and the unexploded bomb was safely dealt with.

If you’re feeling a bit shaken, tired, or simply thankful to be home, you’d be very welcome to join us at Christ Church this Sunday at 10:30am.

Message from our Minister:

This has been a heavy week.

As a Christian, I feel deep sorrow over the two bills passed in the House of Commons this week concerning the decriminalisation of abortion and assisted su***de. These decisions mark a significant shift in how our society views the beginning and end of life.

Why do I grieve?

Because I believe every life matters—from the unborn child in the womb to the terminally ill person in their final days. Life is a gift from God, not something we own or can discard when it becomes inconvenient, painful, or unwanted. When we start deciding whose life is worth living, we risk losing compassion, care, and ultimately, our shared humanity.

But I also want to offer hope.

Even in the face of decisions we believe are wrong, we can still respond with love, courage, and care. We can be a people who protect the vulnerable, support women facing crisis pregnancies, walk with those who are suffering, and speak with truth and grace.

Jesus showed us that love costs something—and that real hope often shines brightest in the darkest places. Let’s continue to be a voice for life, not with anger, but with compassion and deep conviction.
