Heavitree and Pinhoe URC

Heavitree and Pinhoe URC Welcome to Information about Heavitree and Pinhoe United Reformed Churches in Exeter. We are one church over two locations. This church is for everyone.

We are an inclusive community of worshipers who believe in the power of radical love to transform our world. We welcome all people, and though we are mostly older folk we would love to have more diversity represented in our congregation! Come as you are, with your unique story, whatever your age, race, sexual-orientation, gender, marital status or job. Come along and say hi over a coffee :)

Altho

If you have an questions about coming along to church for the first time, or what it is we actually believe, do get in touch!

Sometimes the most freeing thing you can do is let go. Let go of the fear that keeps you stuck. Let go of the need to be perfect. Let go of comparisons that steal your joy. Let go of past mistakes that God has already forgiven. Let go of relationships that constantly pull you away from peace. Let go of trying to control what was never yours to control. Not everything deserves a permanent place in your heart and mind. ❤️

Growth often begins when we release what is weighing us down and trust God to carry what we cannot. What if today was the day you loosened your grip on the things that have been stealing your peace? Take a deep breath. Give your worries to God. Make room for hope, joy, and grace.

Ukraine is recovering after last night’s severe attack. The main target was Kyiv, the capital, along with other major cities across the country. Many of the missiles and drones were intercepted, but there is still a high number of civilian casualties and extensive damage to civilian infrastructure.
Infrastructure can be rebuilt, but human lives cannot be replaced. Please pray for the victims.

Never underestimate how much good can come from one small act of love. One gentle word. One prayer. One moment of kindness. One person choosing compassion instead of indifference. God often works through the quiet things we think don’t matter much at all. 🙏

So today, be the encouragement. Be the calm voice. Be the reminder that hope still exists.

Hate? No thanks.
Hope. That’s what we’re here for.

We’re celebrating the hopefuls. People showing up. Getting on with it. Making the places they live better for everyone.

Every act matters. Every act adds up.

Join us from 13-20 May for A Million Acts of Hope.
Because the more hope we see, the more hopeful we’ll be.

Everyone you meet is carrying something you cannot see. A grief. A fear. A silent battle. A prayer they’re still waiting on. That’s why kindness matters so deeply. ❤️

A gentle word. A little patience. A moment of compassion. These small things can become light in someone’s darkest day. The more we understand our own need for grace, the easier it becomes to give grace to others. Today, slow down enough to love people gently. You never know how much someone may need it.

“Be kind and compassionate to one another.” — Ephesians 4:32 ✝️
