Kagyu Samye Ling Monastery and Tibetan Buddhist Centre The Official page of Kagyu Samye Ling - The first Tibetan Buddhist Centre to be established in the West.

We are a centre for wisdom and learning within the Karma Kagyu tradition of Tibetan Buddhism and open to people of all faiths and none. You are welcome to come for day visits, short stays or to participate in our meditation retreats and courses available throughout the year.

We are still receiving wonderful teachings from Khenpo Ghawang each day.

Today we finished ‘Entering into the Wisdom of the Middle Way’ and now we’re continuing with ‘The Sutra Requested by Maitreya’.

Thanks to everyone who attended our annual Tea Party yesterday. It was a pleasure to see you all.

We were honoured that Ven. Khenpo Ghawang, our esteemed visiting teacher, kindly cut the cake, assisted by Kami.

Yesterday Khenpo Ghawang finished his teaching on the 'Condensed Meaning of the Middle Way ' and today he began teaching 'Entering into the Wisdom of the Middle Way'.

Khenpo's teaching is very clear and easy to understand and we really appreciate such a wonderful opportunity to learn about this profound topic.

Khenpo will continue teaching in Samye Ling until 10th September.

Then after a short break, Khenpo Phurpa Wangchuk will begin teaching on 16th September. Details are on the Samye Ling website (samyeling.org/whats-on).

After being with us in Samye Ling for two and a half months, Khenpo Karma Drodul has safely returned to his home monastery in Nepal.

While he was here, Khenpo taught Abidharma from the commentary by H. H. the 9th Gyalwang Karmapa and we very much hope that he will return to continue next year.

Yesterday Khenpo Karma Drodul concluded his teachings in Samye Ling for this year and today Khenpo Ghawang began teaching.

Khenpo Ghawang will teach three times daily for one month (at 8am, 5pm and 7pm).
