Wesley Memorial Methodist Church Epworth was opened in 1889 as a memorial to the Wesley family. John and Charles Wesley, the founders of Methodism, were born and raised in Epworth. This church signifies the integral link between the people of Epworth and the Wesley family; striving to serve God in the community.

Creator God, our joy is in the beauty of creation, in the splendour of nature and in bringing well-being and peace to the lives of those we are called to serve.

Generous God, our hearts are filled with sorrow when humanity tears itself apart in war, in conflict, in the devaluing of individuals and of creation.

Pour into us your life-giving grace that we may be the light of heaven in the darkness of the world. May we strive to make the world a better place, strengthened by Christ who lives in and through us. Amen.

The Conference, the Connexional Council, the District Chairs and the Warden of the Diaconal Order have heard your call, Risen Shepherd of the Church. Guide and direct them, we pray, that in their discerning and their decisions they may love you above all else. Loving you, may they follow wherever you lead, giving themselves away in your service. Through their self-giving, may your people be nourished, and through the flourishing of the Church, may your glory be revealed. Amen.

Pray with us today.

You, Lord, as the author of the story of all of creation, down to each individual walking on Earth, sing so gently over us, pouring your adoration, peace and assurance into our hearts and minds. Lord, may the stories and songs of our circumstances, locations, relationship with you and with others find crescendo and ultimately, resolution. Lord, put songs in our hearts that are meant for being shared and alternate melodies to draw us into greater communion, fellowship and relationship with others. In the ultimate storyteller’s name we ask and sing, Amen.

It's so how are you this Thursday? If you are still processing the sadness of losing Dolly Parton, Tim Curry in this world or more importantly someone close to you, then perhaps it's time for a brew. So follow these simple steps:

1. Put the kettle on and your day. Grab 1, 2 or 3 Yorkshire Teabags (1 for a single cup, 2 for a single pot or 3 for a pot to share), place them in the cup or teapot of your choice.

2. Once the kettle's boiled, pour the water into the cup or tea pot and for 2 minutes and 30 seconds whilst the tea brews.

3. Put milk in your cup (if you have brewed in a pot, do that before pouring the tea in the cup). Now on whatever has caused you to and before drinking in the elixir of the Metal Methodist.
