He is RISEN 🙌

New Living Translation
He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying.

Greatest man in history, had no servants, yet they called him Master. Had no degree, yet they called him Teacher. Had no medicines, yet they called him Healer. He had no army, yet kings feared Him. He won no military battles, yet He conquered the world. He committed no crime, yet they crucified Him. He was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today. His name is Jesus.

I can’t stop thinking about the garden and all that’s happening for Him.

The lamplight of the soldiers. The kiss of betrayal from someone He loves.
The frantic emotions as He’s arrested.

The heart bending noises and sounds of this unfolding…

I just don’t ever want to look away from what He faced.

But somehow, this verse tucked in there with so much power, grabbed my heart tonight.

“Jesus fully realized all that was going to happen to him, so he stepped forward to meet them. “Who are you looking for?” he asked. “Jesus the Nazarene,” they replied. “I Am he,” Jesus said. (Judas, who betrayed him, was standing with them.)”

It’s powerful. Isn’t it. The whole thing.

But that tiny word “so”…. It just felt extra big tonight.

He knew. So He stepped forward.

Forward into the hands of those who will torture Him all night. And into tomorrow.

Forward to the crown of thorns. The mocking. The spitting. The beating.

Forward to the cross. And then into death.

Forward for you. And for me, too.

So He stepped forward.

And I just can’t get enough of this Man. The One Who stepped forward into death so that we can live.

Thank You Jesus.

Thank You for stepping forward. For taking my place.

For knowing all You were stepping into. And stepping forward still.

❤️

There will never be a time this doesn’t make me cry.

The truth that Jesus knows my name. And calls me.

He seeks me out and speaks my name…. 🥹

And yours, too. He comes for you and calls you by name!

I just can’t get enough of this truth.

Can you imagine the sound of His voice saying your name?

Your name, carried on the breath of God.

The same voice that healed the sick, that raised the dead, that saved the world.

First He calls us — and then, with confident assurance, He leads us out.

Out of uncertainty.
Away from false shepherds and quiet idols.

Away from places never meant for those He calls His own.

Out of the jagged spaces our fear kept us in.

Out of the noise of voices that never really knew us.

Out and into His good plan.
Into His way.
Into freedom.

First He calls us by name.
Then He leads us out.

And (I love this part so much) we recognize His voice.

Something in us knows. Doesn’t it?

So we tuck ourselves up and follow.

Not because we can see the whole road, but because we trust the Shepherd who called our name.

And step by step, He leads us out…and into life.

Our name on His lips. His heart fully for us. Eternity on His mind.

Thank You, Jesus, for calling us by name. For knowing us, loving us, and coming for us. Help us to follow You wholeheartedly. Tucked up so close that we’re covered in the dust from Your feet. We’re following You, Jesus. Lead the way.
Amen

“To him the gatekeeper opens. The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.”

It’s the day before Palm Sunday and I can’t stop thinking about Him.

About His feet, covered in dust.

And His face…
I think so much about His face.

What does the face of the Messiah look like…?

And as He makes His way to Jerusalem… what do we see in His eyes?

I picture Him.

Covered in the dust of a thousand miles of ministry.

Determined. Beautiful. Gentle.
His heart beating for the ones He loves.

Today is the day before He enters Jerusalem.
The day before He’s welcomed with cheers and celebration.

They’re anticipating a warrior.
They’ve convinced themselves they need a victor.

And Jesus—just days before the cross—knows exactly how it all unfolds.

He knows the horror of the cross. And He knows the hope of the empty grave.

In fact, He IS the Hope of the empty grave.

Thank You Jesus.

So I’m over here thinking about all of it.

Wondering about Him.
In awe of His courage.
So grateful for His love.

Because I needed Him to keep walking.
To keep making His way.

I needed Him not to change His mind about me.

To love me enough to keep putting one dusty foot in front of the other.

My name on His heart.
Your name on His heart.

Tomorrow begins Holy Week. And every year I find myself holding my breath a little as I linger in the most important few days in history.

Jesus is about to step into the hardest, most painful week of His life.

The most loving thing.
The most sacrificial thing
anyone has ever done.

He’s about to change everything forever.

And I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to take my eyes off Him.

Lord, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, not in my own power but through Your strength working in and through me when mine runs out.

This isn’t a promise I can do anything I want but that I can do everything You call me to, that Your strength is sufficient for whatever You’re asking of me.

Teach me to lean on Christ’s strength instead of my own, to stop relying on my limited capacity and start drawing on His unlimited power available to me.

I face things that feel beyond my ability, tasks too big, challenges too hard, situations too complex, but Christ’s strength makes up the difference between what I can do and what needs doing.

Help me remember the key phrase is “through Christ,” that apart from Him I can do nothing but with Him empowering me, nothing is impossible.

Remind me that Paul wrote this from prison, proving Christ’s strength sustains us not just in success but in suffering, not just in victory but in hardship and limitation.

Give me confidence to attempt what You’re calling me to even when I feel inadequate, knowing Christ’s strength in me is greater than the challenge before me.

Let me live today with assurance that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, capable not because of who I am but because of who empowers me.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

I’m thinking already about the Cross.

I know we’re weeks out still. But somewhere back in the history of things, our Rescuer is making His way.

The folks around Him don’t know it yet. But He does.

They don’t understand. But He does.

I imagine the chatter around the fire at night. The teachings and miracles. The excitement about people healed. Lives changed.

The laughter. The antics.

But inside Jesus burns a heart of death defeating love.

His heart and eyes fixed on the rescue.

Make a way.

Be The Way.

See, the plan was in motion from the beginning. A divine rescue mission rooted in love so other-worldly we cannot fully understand it.

A love that stops at nothing. That changes everything.

A love that is unstopped by pain. Undeterred by ridicule, whipping, rejection.

The cross represents the rescue.

And a rescue, by its very nature is a declaration of worth. Of value.

You, and me too — we are the object of this Man’s rescue.

And I don’t know about you, but I run in the direction of that kind of love.

And so as my own heart turns even more intentionally toward that cross, I hope you’ll join me.

Today, wherever you are, whatever it is that’s kept you from believing your worth.

Whatever life pain has stopped you from leaning into this kind of love.

Whatever busyness is stirring in the background.

Will you join me? Remember the cross ahead of time.

Remember the Rescuer. He’s on His way. His rescue mission is in full swing.

For you. And for me.

Lean in with me and get ready.

Not for a second did He hesitate.

Or turn away.

He still hasn’t. He never will.

My friend, I’ll meet you at the Cross.

Where our Rescuer knows our names. And our value is forever decided.
