St. Padre Pio’s Favored Prayer of Petition

June 12 is the Feast Day of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

When someone asks us to pray for a specific intention, many of us turn to familiar prayers like the Rosary, an Our Father, or a simple plea to God. Padre Pio also had a prayer he regularly used when interceding for others.

Each day, Padre Pio received countless prayer requests in person and through letters, faithfully bringing these intentions before God. Many later testified to extraordinary graces received through his intercession.

The prayer he often prayed was not his own composition. It is traditionally attributed to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, who received revelations concerning devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It is commonly known as the *Efficacious Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus*.

Many are drawn to this novena because it entrusts our petitions to the merciful Heart of Christ while surrendering them to God's holy will. As Padre Pio understood, prayer is not a transaction or guarantee, but an act of faith and humility before a loving Father who answers according to what is best for our souls.

What follows is the traditional prayer used in this novena, prayed with trust in the Sacred Heart of Jesus and confidence in His mercy:

I.
O my Jesus, You have said:
“Truly I say to you, ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you.”
Behold, I knock, I seek, and I ask for the grace of

(here mention your request)

Our Father…
Hail Mary…
Glory be to the Father…
Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in You.

II.
O my Jesus, You have said:
“Truly I say to you, if you ask anything of the Father in My name, He will give it to you.”
Behold, in Your name, I ask the Father for the grace of

(here mention your request)

Our Father…
Hail Mary…
Glory be to the Father…
Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in You.

III.
O my Jesus, You have said:
“Truly I say to you, heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.”
Encouraged by Your infallible words, I now ask for the grace of

(here mention your request)

Our Father…
Hail Mary…
Glory be to the Father…

Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in You.

O Sacred Heart of Jesus, for whom it is impossible not to have compassion on the afflicted,
have pity on us miserable sinners and grant us the grace which we ask of You,
through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, Your tender Mother and ours.

Amen.

Hail, Holy Queen…

St. Joseph, foster father of Jesus, pray for us.

Amen

PRAYER FOR THE SPREAD OF THE FLAME OF LOVE

Blessed Virgin Mary, our Mother, Your love of GOD and Your Love for us your children is such that you offer us to Your Divine Son Jesus on the Cross, to obtain forgiveness for our sins from the Eternal Father, and thus, obtain our salvation, and for anyone believing in Jesus not to perish but obtain Eternal Life.
It is with filial trust that we beseech you, Blessed Mother, with the Flame of Love of your Immaculate Heart and through the Holy Spirit, to inflame in our hearts the fire of a perfect love for God and all men. Help us spread this Holy Flame to all people of good will, so that the Flame of Love may extinguish the fires of hate all over the world, and Jesus, the Prince of Peace, may be King, front and center, in every heart, in the Sacrament of His Love on the throne of our Altars.

Amen.

WHY DOES A DEACON WEAR HIS STOLE ACROSS HIS SHOULDER?🤔✝️

_________________
Many people ask:
Why does the deacon wear his stole differently from the priest?

The answer is deep and beautiful.🤚

✝️Not Power, But Service

The deacon is not ordained to lead the Church like a priest.
He is ordained to serve, just like Jesus did.

The word "deacon" comes from the Greek "diakonos" meaning "servant".
So, his vestment, especially the stole, must reflect that.

While a priest wears his stole straight down on both shoulders,
the deacon wears it from his left shoulder, across his chest, and ties it at the side.

But why?

✝️ Every Part Has Meaning:

👉From the shoulder, because that’s where you carry a burden.
The deacon carries the burden of the Gospel, of the poor, of the Church.

👉Across the chest, it crosses the heart.
Because service must come from love. Without love, it's just work.

👉Tied at the side, because he’s ready to serve.
Like a servant rolling up their sleeves, the deacon is always ready.

✝️ The Stole Is a Cross

That stole, crossing from shoulder to side, is shaped like a cross.
It reminds the deacon, and all of us, that to serve like Jesus is to carry a cross.

- It's not about looking important.
- It's about loving deeply, serving humbly, and giving joyfully.

The deacon wears what Christ wore:
- A towel to wash feet.
- A cross to save the world.

A Message Without Words

When you see a deacon in his stole, you’re seeing a message:

- “I am here to serve, not to be served.”
- “I carry Christ’s message, with love.”
- “I stand between the altar and the street, to bring God to the people, and the people to God.”

✝️ So:

The priest’s stole says: I lead you to the altar.
The deacon’s stole says: I walk with you to the streets.

- It’s not just a cloth.
- It’s a cross.
- It’s a calling.

And it's worn…
with the heart in the middle.

God bless you 🙏

Gospel of the Day (Matthew 5,38-42)

Jesus said to his disciples: "You have heard that it was said, An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. But I say to you, offer no resistance to one who is evil. When someone strikes you on (your) right cheek, turn the other one to him as well.

If anyone wants to go to law with you over your tunic, hand him your cloak as well. Should anyone press you into service for one mile, go with him for two miles. Give to the one who asks of you, and do not turn your back on one who wants to borrow."

It's easy to look at the mountains, oceans, stars, and sunsets and feel small. Yet the same God who created all of them knows your name. He knows your story. He knows your struggles, your hopes, your fears, and every prayer you've whispered when no one else was listening. You are not an accident. You are not forgotten. You are not here by chance. God created you with purpose, on purpose. đź’ź

And if He thought the world needed one of you, then your life carries more value than you may realize today. So take a deep breath and remember: you are deeply known, deeply loved, and intentionally created by the One who made it all.
