Join us for 'WORSHIP FOR EVERYONE' in the TJ Hall at Blackley this afternoon at 2.00 pm. If you are unable to come along in person but would like to join us you can do so through our church Zoom link as we do not braodcast our all age services on Facebook. If you do not know the link and would like to come along just DM us or contact Jo or Andy and we'll send it through. Looking forward to seeing you as we look at 'Fish and Forgiveness' (Hmm, sounds like an episode of Gone Fishing...')

Since Easter we have brought our Sunday cross downstairs due to works in the Chapel. Visitors have said how much they appreciate the cross, so I thought I'd share it with those who are unable to visit in person. Blackley Baptist Church, where all are welcome.

Grateful for such an amazing, rich and moving Holy Week and Easter. From Palm Sunday celebrations through Holy Week, with daily breakfasts looking at the thresholds we cross. Maundy Thursday communion in our upper room was amazing - sharing bread and wine with images, chants and simple actions which thrilled and moved me. Every year we finish in the garden - running away as we hear of Jesus arrest, and this year as we heard of Palestinians being arrested by Israeli military it moved me so deeply. Standing at the Cross on Good Friday, sharing meditations of Pilates wife and Mary and Martha was a privilege that took me to tears. And then came this morning!
What joy! Although not at first. A dark church with few flowers, transformed through the actions, flowers and love of those present into a true expression of God's new creation heralded by the resurrection of Jesus. As we stepped across the threshold into the new life offered to us by our compassionate God I was so grateful for our wonderful, warm, loving, inclusive church community where all are welcomed and loved. Thank you, Blackley. Andy and I are going to have a little down time but we are grateful to God for you and are excited by all that God has in store. Christ is Risen!

Starting Wednesday 11th September, the Playing with Peace group will be held every Wednesday, 9.30 - 11am (in term time), in the Thompson Jones Hall.

Dear Friends,
As we step into February and March, we find ourselves at a gentle turning point in the year. The deep darkness of winter is beginning to ease (yes, it is!), the days slowly lengthen, and there are quiet signs that spring is on its way. It is a season of movement and anticipation — and a fitting moment to pause, reflect, and listen as we journey together into 2026.

These months also carry us into Lent, a time in the year that offers us a gift: the opportunity to listen again for God’s voice, to be shaped by prayer, reflection, and acts of love, and to allow God to gently re-orient ourhearts and our hopes. This newsletter is the first opportunity to share more widely our theme for the year: “Listening to God; Sailing in Peace.”
