MONDAY MUSE

From a biblical perspective, the horizon is a gentle reminder of God’s unfailing presence and the hope He places before His children. Each sunrise over the horizon speaks of His mercy, for “His compassions never fail; they are new every morning” (Lamentations 3:22–23). Though we cannot see beyond the horizon, God sees every step of our journey and lovingly guides our path. Life often brings uncertainty, but the horizon invites us to trust God who holds both today and tomorrow. Like Abraham, who walked by faith rather than by sight, we are called to look beyond our circumstances and believe God’s promises. The beauty of the horizon also reflects the glory of the Creator, reminding us that His power and love surround us wherever we go. As we fix our eyes on Christ, the horizon becomes a symbol not of limitation, but of endless hope, fresh beginnings, and the assurance that God is always preparing something greater than we can imagine.

Monday Muse

Today has been a day of learning to walk in the ‘unforced’ rhythms of His Grace.

It has been a difficult day with a multitude of challenges. It’s easy to become disillusioned, grumpy, frustrated and dare I say angry.

But, then you find yourself challenged by the Holy Spirit as you sit in a doctor’s waiting room and your appointment is delayed because someone is having a heart attack.

A moment of deep reflection on my attitude and questioning of whether I’m being justified in my frustration makes me realize I’m anything but a bearer of the light and peace.

If you, like me, have had this type of day, I pray that we will be able to contend in grace with the unpredictable, be resilient when confronted by grief and, at all times, be rest filled and peace full.

May we all realize the need to walk with Jesus, at His pace and under His constant tutoring and be open to keep company with Him and live lightly and freely.

Continue to journey with Him and, in every situation, may you be like Jesus.

David was a king, warrior, and leader, yet his “one thing” was not success, influence, or victory — it was presence.

“To gaze upon the beauty of the Lord.” — Psalm 27:4

The Hebrew word for “gaze” is chazah — meaning to behold attentively, to contemplate deeply, or to fix your eyes upon something with wonder.

We become what we behold. What captures our attention eventually shapes our hearts.

In a distracted world, perhaps our greatest need is a renewed fascination with Jesus.
