Jesus is Risen. Alleluia.
Happy Easter.
We hope you can join in a service of celebration wherever you are. There are services going on all over the Mission Community this morning and some may have already been up early for a sunrise service.
On this first Sunday of the month we pray for peace. Please pray this prayer, written by our new Mission Community Leader Rev Dave Flitcroft, in your quiet time this week.
God of peace and compassion,
we come before you as your people, gathered in worship,
bringing with us the hopes and burdens of the world.
We pray for peace in our world.
Where there is war, bring reconciliation.
Where there is hatred, sow understanding.
Where there is suffering, raise up compassion and mercy.
Guide the leaders of the nations, that they may seek justice, protect the vulnerable,
and choose the paths that lead to lasting peace.
We pray for peace in your Church.
Where we are divided, bring humility and grace.
Where we are fearful, give us courage to trust one another.
Help all Christians to recognise one another as sisters and brothers in Christ,
that together we may bear faithful witness to your love in West Cumbria.
We pray for peace in our country.
In times of disagreement and uncertainty,
teach us to listen with patience and speak with kindness.
Strengthen all who serve the common good,
and help us to build a society marked by justice, dignity, and care for all.
We pray for peace in our homes and in our hearts.
Where there is tension, bring patience.
Where there is hurt, bring forgiveness.
Where there is anxiety, grant your calming presence.
Make our homes places of welcome, gentleness, and love.
God of all peace,
you have shown us your reconciling love in Jesus Christ.
Fill us with your Spirit, that we may be makers of peace in the world you love.
We ask this in the name of Christ,
the Prince of Peace.
Amen.
