Another fabulously sunny day for the wedding of Mirna and Tom in our stunning Chapel. The beautiful service was led by Revd Mae Christie with organ and piano music provided by Royal Holloway alumnus Luke Saint. Wishing Tom and Mirna much love and happiness as they start their married life together.

We kept up our streak of never having had a rainy wedding with our first Chapel wedding of 2024! Molly and Kieran were blessed with bright sunshine and blue skies. 2023 has been a wonderful year for weddings in our beautiful chapel, with a variety of ceremonies from intimate blessings for 20 people to large celebrations for 180 guests. We welcomed many different nationalities and cultures, and a wide range of Christian denominations. Couples included alumni, staff and students, many of whom met at Royal Holloway so it was really special for them to tie the knot in the place it all began. Over the past year, weddings across the country have been seriously impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic and at Royal Holloway, University of London it has been no different.

In a year that would have usually seen dozens of alumni weddings hosted on campus, only one couple made it down the Chapel aisle in 2020! The new Mr and Mrs du Pille take us through the twists and turns of their unconventional wedding journey.

Congratulations to Joella and Jack, who were able to get married in-between lockdowns in our beautiful chapel in December. Due to weddings being cancelled or postponed in 2020, it was our only wedding of the year!

Even with guest numbers restricted to 15, Joella and Jack had a wonderful day and we wish them much happiness in their married life together.

Our last wedding of 2017 took place in the Chapel in November. It has been a great year meeting lots of really lovely couples and getting to share such a special day with them. I always think how lucky I am to be able to be part of so many weddings! All of our weddings this year have been for alumni of Royal Holloway and it has been so nice to be able to welcome them back. We have had a wide range of Christian denominations represented this year and once again we have also welcomed many different nationalities and cultures to our wedding services. Thank you to all my amazing couples of 2017 and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
