14 May - Justice and Compassion

This Christian Aid Week reminds us that poverty is not inevitable - and neither is injuistice.

Around the world, communities are facing the impacts of conflict, rising food costs and climate crisis. Through continued prayer, generosity and action, we can stand alongside those working towards a more just and hopeful future.

"He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy and to walk
humbly with your God."
- Micah 6:8

11 May - Prayer for the World

As Christian Aid Week continues, we pause to pray for communities facing poverty, hunger, displacement and climate injustice.

God of compassion,
help us to see our neighbours with Your eyes,
to respond with generosity and courage,
and to work for a world shaped by justice
and hope.
Amen.

May we remember this week that prayer and action belong together.

✨ Sharing Good News ✨

A story from John after attending our Fresh Expressions Learning Community last weekend:

“Absolutely what ministry and outreach is about - it’s to meet people where they’re at. Just as Jesus done, he went out to the poor, the needy. The unpopular, the salt of the earth as they refer to them. And he absolutely got alongside them, he got to know them and he served them. That’s what I would encourage you to do; think about on your journey, who have you served in this week? And how would you like to be able to serve more in your communities?”

A simple but powerful challenge for us all as we seek to live out our faith in everyday places.
