Local folklore suggests that St Modan may have been buried in the old graveyard opposite our , St Modan's, Rosneath, one of The Lochside Churches.

This story undoubtedly grew in strength following the discovery, in 1880, of an elaborately carved early-medieval cross slab buried there.

The earliest church, appears to have been built in the 12th c. and either demolished or incorporated into the 2nd church in the 16th c. This was partially demolished in 1780. Architect David Cousin built the current church in 1853.

It's time again, so we are off once more to our , St Michael's Parish Church in Slateford, Edinburgh.

This stunning carved baptismal font was gifted to the A-listed church anonymously, its bowl said to have been dug up in the ruins of a pre-Reformation church, its carved base made specially for it.

The font remained in use until 2000, when the church switched to a more practical, smaller wooden font.

It's , so here is the beautiful doorway in our , the A-listed St Michael's Parish Church in Edinburgh.

The vestibule doors were Installed in 2001, in memory of local parishioner Connie Duncan, who had known the church in her youth and had left money in her will to the "five churches in which she had been happy."

Their design echoed the church's original 1883 sanctuary doors, with the new woodwork crafted by Charles Taylor and the new glass panels created by artist Susan Bradbury, who took inspiration from the plants and flowers used to name the nearby streets of the Shandon "colonies".
