Rev Will Sanders has been ordained and inducted as Minister of Christ Church Edinburgh.

Will has recently graduated from Edinburgh Theological Seminary as well as having gained experience as Minister in Training at Redeemer Church Edinburgh. He had also completed a Summer placement in Christ Church, so Will and his wife Sarah are well known to the congregation.

The start of a new academic session at Edinburgh Theological Seminary was marked joyfully on Monday evening at the annual Opening Service at St Columba's Free Church, Edinburgh.

The service, which was well attended by students, their families and many friends, was conducted by Principal Iver Martin. He spoke about the importance of a confessional seminary that adheres closely to the supreme authority of Scripture.

Two students then reflected on their time at ETS, speaking warmly of its ethos and learning environment, before guest speaker Dr David Strain gave an address on Christian Formation as the essential basis for ministry.

Working through 2 Peter 1, Dr Strain spoke of Christian foundation as being rooted in the gospel, advanced by effort, comprehensive in scope, progressive in character, the basis of fruitfulness and the key to longevity.

As a new term begins, ETS is excited to welcome a new intake of students and thankful for the help and prayerful support its receive from so many friends.

The Free Church of Scotland Moderator is travelling to Australia on a trip organised by the Free Church’s Inter Church Relations Committee in association with Presbyterian Church of Australia (PCA) and the Presbyterian Church of Eastern Australia (PCEA).

Rev Calum Iain and Dina Macleod are travelling to Australia for a packed programme of official engagements over a three-week period.

On Saturday 29th August the Hope Church Coatbridge building was full for the induction of Rev. Benj Wilks. Family and friends from many places attended for what proved an uplifting time.

It was especially encouraging that so many from Benj’s previous congregation at Covenant Church, Newmilns came along to support him and Joanna, and wish them well in their new sphere of ministry.

Edinburgh Theological Seminary's opening service takes place this evening at 7:30pm in St Columba's Free Church. All are welcome to attend.

All welcome to join us this evening as we welcome new and returning students and celebrate the start of a new term at ETS! Our Opening Service will include an address on 'Christian Formation' by minister and author Dr David Strain.

Glasgow recently hosted the Commonwealth Games with athletes and tourists travelling from around the world.

It was too good an opportunity to miss. So, the Glasgow and Argyll Presbytery worked with mission partner, Operation Mobilisation, to share the gospel during the Games.

Rev Tom Penman said: "It was a great week. Glasgow’s greatest need is to know Christ and we shared the gospel with people from all different backgrounds. Missions like this show what is possible when we work together."
