A little late in posting this but we join with our friends in the Airdrie congregation in giving thanks to God for the life and witness of Ian Shaw.
Over the years, Ian served as an 'interim' elder (an elder from another church who provides oversight and support, especially in a new or smaller congregation) in a number of places outside his own church in Airdrie. North Edinburgh was one of them and, in the early years of our church plant especially, we were richly blessed by his input and prayers.
He was a warm, gracious, godly, selfless, faithful and funny man who poured himself out in his own congregation and across the Scottish RP Church and beyond, all for the name and the glory of Jesus Christ his Lord.
With the deepest sadness, we report that our beloved elder Ian Shaw passed away on the 3rd March. Ian was born on the 1st December 1940 in Salsburgh, the oldest of 4 sons. He met his wife, Elizabeth, when he was 19, and they were married in 1965 in the Airdrie RP Church to which […]
