Morningside Parish Church of Scotland

Morningside Parish Church of Scotland We aim to be a welcoming and inclusive congregation. Services at 9.30am (Sept-June); 10.30am all year

Welcome to Morningside Parish Church in Edinburgh, a Church of Scotland congregation. We are a Presbyterian Church and part of the Reformed Church family. Morningside Parish Church is open to people who share our Christian faith, as well as those who are on the fringes of faith, and those who would like to begin the journey of faith. We are here to witness to Jesus Christ through our worship and o

ur work, and to reach out to and support members of the community around us. Our Minister is the Very Revd Dr Derek Browning, a former Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland.

Choral Evensong, Sunday 21st June

Led by our organist Morley Whitehead, the choir will lead a service of Choral Evensong at 6.30pm on Sunday 21st June. Evensong is a church service, most commonly associated with the Church of England. Our Choir plays a major part in our morning services from October through to June, and we remain grateful to them for this contribution to our worship.

The service on 21st June will also provide an opportunity to make donations to go towards the funding of choral scholarships into the future.

Jam, Baking and Making Stall

The next stall will be on Sunday 31st May. This happens also to be the first day of the Umbrella Festival so it’s a stall with a difference. The usual bakers should bring their donations as normal for the stall, but we’ll keep it to sell in the afternoon to visitors to the festival. What we’ll sell in the morning are the wonderful cakes, biscuits, pies, tarts, scones and other delights that we know men in the congregation make regularly and are looking forward to sharing. No cream, please, since the sun will shine that day and it may go off. Please remember to label your donations with a list of ingredients. All profits on this day will go towards the Umbrella Festival fundraising.
