One week ago we held this year‘s National Prayer Breakfast for Scotland, a significant and influential time together. As we gathered as a nation, 400 people in-person in Edinburgh, and many hundreds more via live stream we spent the morning praying and focused on the theme of Integrity.
The prayers were many and wide ranging, praying both for this nation and those beyond. The sense of the presence of God was considerable and the prayers offered up were done in front of the First Minister of Scotland, other senior politicians, newly elected MSP‘s, key business people and those from the public sector, as well as church people from across the denominations.
The room was full both physically and in anticipation, with those in attendance from both the Christian faith and other faiths, and also those with no faith. The National Prayer Breakfast for Scotland is an annual fixture in the national calendar of Scotland which reminds us that:
prayer still matters,
God is still moving, and
Jesus is still transforming lives.
