Community Conversation on Creating a Portobello Tapestry.

Please come along to St Mark's Church on tomorrow between 10.30 and 12 to join a conversation on how together we might create a tapestry for Portobello. We'll be joined by Andrew Crummy, designer of The Great Scottish Tapestry. The Thursday hub has been gathering ideas over the last few months and we would now like to share our ideas, and for you to give us your thoughts and ideas.

We are looking for people of all ages who might be interested in creating something that shows the wonderful vibrant community that Portobello is. If you enjoy sewing, knitting, crochet, collage, drawing or have other talents, we would love you to come along and share your ideas, and any experience you may have. You don't have to be an expert, you might not have done anything crafty in the past, but if you would like to learn, this could be your opportunity.

We plan to start creating the Portobello Tapestry in September this year at St Marks and we hope as many people as possible will be involved in its creation.

Today a number of us from St Mark's were with the hundreds of people who welcomed Bishop Dagmar to Edinburgh. It was a joyous occasion and we look forward to welcoming the new Bishop to St Mark's on 6 September as we celebrate our 200th anniversary.
