The Archdiocese of St Andrews & Edinburgh is one of the eight dioceses of the Catholic Church in Scotland. The geographic bounds of the Archdiocese of St Andrews & Edinburgh comprises of the City of Edinburgh; Scottish Borders, East Lothian; Midlothian; West Lothian: Falkirk; Stirling (except the parishes of Callander & Aberfoyle & Doune & Killin and Dunblane; Fife (except the parishes of Cupar &

Auchtermuchty; High Valleyfield & Kincardine-on-Forth; and Newport-on-Tay & Leuchars & Tayport); in East Dunbartonshire, the parishes of Lennoxtown, Milton of Campsie and Torrance: in North Lanarkshire, the parish of Kilsyth. The total population within the Archdiocese is over 1.5 million of whom approximately 120,000 are Catholic. The ancient See of St Andrews was suppressed at the time of the Scottish Reformation in the 16th century but was restored by Pope Leo XIII in 1878 whereupon it was given the new title of the Archdiocese of St Andrews & Edinburgh. It's an opportunity to meet others on a similar journey, deepen your relationship with Jesus, and learn more about living the Catholic faith in everyday life.

The day will include talks from:

▪️ Fr Lawrence Lew, a convert and global Promoter General for the Holy Rosary, overseeing the growth and promotion of the Rosary Confraternity for the worldwide Dominican Order. Fr Lawrence was born in Malaysia to a devout Protestant family, and he became a Catholic in Singapore where he was taught by De La Salle brothers.

▪️ Monsignor Jeremy Milne, a convert, and priest at St Mary's Catholic Cathedral in Edinburgh. He is also Vicar General for the Archdiocese.

▪️Sr Miriam Ruth Ryan, a Religious Sister of Mercy of Alma, Michignan, based in Edinburgh and serving as the Archdiocese's Catechetics advisor.

Archbishop Cushley will celebrate Holy Mass in St Margaret's Chapel on the day, and there will be an opportunity for Confession (four priests available).

Event is aimed at new Catholics but all are welcome to attend.

A conference for those who help Catholics with learning disabilities is taking place in Fatima, Portugal. Our SPRED* coordinator Sr Mary Benedicta Maier RSM is there with people from Scotland as well as countries including the US, Australia and Malta.

*Special Religious Development is a spiritual programme for children and adults with special needs

Today we welcomed primary and secondary teachers for a retreat at The Gillis Centre, Edinburgh. They are midway through the two-year Fife Catholic School Leadership Programme.

Mass was celebrated in St Margaret’s Chapel by Fr John Deighan, Vicar Episcopal for Education (and priest at Ss John Cantius & Nicholas Broxburn).

Please keep them in your prayers as they deepen their leadership skills and commitment to Catholic education.
