CECE is 30 years today!

Reflections on CECE church anniversary.
30 years isn’t the longest history. But it’s enough to matter; if you’ve been running the right race. Today CECE celebrates three decades of community, faith, and the slow, costly, beautiful work of being shaped by Christ together. We’re grateful for every person who has been part of this story — those who planted, those who stayed, those who are just finding their place. The fight isn’t over. The race isn’t finished. But we know what we’re running for. 🙏✨ Happy anniversary, CECE. 🎉

Do you think of the resurrection as a disruption? In Matthew 28, we read they it completely upended people’s lives. It shattered what they expected to be normal and natural. The resurrection of Jesus is more than a hero’s triumph at the end of the story. It makes a total disruption and the inauguration of a new life.

May the resurrection of Jesus be real in your world! ✨🌍

As we consider this year’s church theme of being renewed in the living Word, what does it mean to model the living Word in our lives, and encourage the Word in others? Who are the Pauls and Timothys in your life?

The Lord’s Prayer ends where it began.. with its focus on God.
In remembering that the kingdom belongs to Him, our hearts find rest and our lives find focus. And don’t we all need that at various points of our lives 🙏

Week Seven | Through the Lord’s Prayer

“Lead us not to temptation, but deliver us from evil.”

We live surrounded by evil and temptation. This is a reminder that we depend on God’s deliverance daily. It is also a prayer of hope and perseverance; that our place is not in sin and evil, but in God’s righteousness.

Earlier today on New Year’s Eve, a few of us gathered for songs & fellowship. ☺️🎶

Blessings for the year ahead—to loved ones near and far, from the Scottish Highlands to Himalayan highlands, SE Asia to North America, Singapore to Edinburgh.

May we walk into the year ahead with the assurance that the Shepherd’s goodness and mercy follow us all our days.
