📣 Thank You – General Assembly Guard of Honour 💙

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to support the Guard of Honour for the Lord High Commissioner, Lady Elish Angiolini KC ahead of the Church of Scotland Sunday service at St Giles Cathedral, Edinburgh.

It was fantastic to see 32 young people on parade forming the Guard, with representation from Lanarkshire, Stirling, Dunfermline, and Edinburgh, Leith & District Battalion — as well as further representation within the Bands.

A special thanks must go to those involved from the Scotland Committee, and to the Adjutant of the parade, for their organisation and support in making the day run so smoothly.

We are also extremely grateful to Edinburgh New Town Church on George Street, Rev’d Dr Conor Fegan, and all the volunteers who welcomed the boys after the service and provided pizza and juice. The boys — and leaders! — thoroughly enjoyed the kindness and hospitality shown. 🍕🥤

We have included some photos from the day, with thanks and credit to the Church of Scotland for use of some of their images. More photo's can be seen on their page.

If anyone has any other photos from the day, please feel free to add them in the comments below. Also, please see the link in the comments to Haizhen’s Hut YouTube channel for a video of the parade.

Following the Guard of Honour, participants are also invited to attend the Church Service at The New Town Church on George Street, with refreshments available afterwards for those taking part.

We would love to see as many Companies represented as possible, helping us give a strong showing from Edinburgh, Leith & District Battalion on this important occasion.

📣 Catching Up Around The Boys’ Brigade in Edinburgh 💙

As Companies across the Battalion prepare for their Annual Awards and Parents’ Nights, we want to begin by saying a huge thank you to all the Boys and Girls who attend each week, and to every leader and volunteer who gives their time, energy and care to make The Boys’ Brigade in Edinburgh such a success.

It’s been a busy few months across our Edinburgh BB groups, with plenty of activities, achievements and adventures to celebrate!

1st Kirkliston Boys' Brigade 🧗
Anchors and Juniors have been scaling new heights with a brilliant visit to Clip ’n Climb - a fantastic activity full of challenge, fun and confidence-building.

14th Leith Boys' Brigade ⚓
The 14th have had a packed programme, including Mother’s Day cards, International Team Games, team challenges, Easter egg nests, an Easter scavenger hunt and even some creative fun with alphabet spaghetti!
A huge congratulations also goes to the 14th Leith Junior Section, who finished 68th out of 279 teams in the Junior International Team Games - beating last year’s placing of 88th. A fantastic achievement, especially with the highest-ever number of entries from across the BB world! 🌍👏

25th Edinburgh Boys' Brigade 🔐🏕️
Company Section enjoyed a brilliant breakout session at Escape Reality Edinburgh, with some teams escaping with only seconds to spare!
Their Junior Section also headed off to East Lothian for Easter Camp - head over to the 25th Edinburgh page to see all the photos from this year’s camp.

The Company Section have also been busy competing in the National Top Team Challenge. We won’t spoil their final placing just yet, as the Company will be announcing this at their Parents’ Night - but well done to all who took part!

48th Edinburgh Boys' Brigade 🏆
Well done to the 48th Company Boys who took part in this year’s Top Team Challenge. While they didn’t place quite as high as last year, it was still a very strong showing, finishing 115th and 213th out of 252 teams. A great effort from everyone involved, and something to be proud of! 💙

Best wishes to all Companies holding Annual Awards and Parents’ Nights over the coming weeks - we hope you have a fantastic time celebrating another great session.

What a fantastic weekend the 48th Edinburgh Boys' Brigade and 61st Edinburgh - Musselburgh Boys Brigade had at PGL Dalguise! 🌳
From scaling the climbing walls to hitting bullseyes in archery, tackling problem-solving challenges and learning survival skills, the boys threw themselves into every activity. The teamwork, encouragement and spirit across the weekend were second to none — a brilliant experience for everyone involved. Check out Both pages to see all the Pictures from the weekend camp!

Back at the hall, both Companies have also been busy with their own activities.

48th Edinburgh 🏎️
The Company Section took on a creative challenge to design their own “Penicuik Pram Race” vehicles. The results were fantastic, with the Company Section producing an impressive Batmobile, while the Seniors went all-in with a Jurassic Park Jeep. The Company boys have also been competing in their annual Company competitions, putting in great performances across the board.

61st Edinburgh (Musselburgh) 🍓
Anchors and Juniors got hands-on in the kitchen making a child-friendly Cranachan, taking turns whipping the cream by hand (with a little help from the leaders and an electric mixer!).
Looking ahead, the Company is preparing for their upcoming Quiz Night This Friday and is still on the lookout for raffle prizes — if anyone can help with a donation, please get in touch with them directly.

The boys have arrived at PGL and already competed in their first Games of the night! Full weekend of Activities ahead for both ourselves and the 61st Edinburgh - Musselburgh Boys Brigade

A fantastic experience for the boys at the 14th Leith Boys' Brigade with a behind-the-scenes visit to Leith Police Station. A big thank you to Lewis and John from the Community Policing Team for showing the group around and answering all their questions.

Back at the hall, it was another busy Wednesday night across all sections.
⚓ Anchors got their hands dirty planting carrot seeds and learning how to help them grow. 🥕
🎨 Juniors continued their International Team Games, building teamwork and sportsmanship with games from around the world. 🌍
🧗 Company Section put their minds and skills to the test with drill, a Who Wants to Be a Millionaire quiz, lateral thinking puzzles and an exciting ship-defence strategy game. 🚢🧠

Earlier last month, the boys and leaders from the 51st Bonnyrigg Boys Brigade Company Section enjoyed a fantastic weekend trip to Berlin. The group spent time taking in the sights, learning about Germany’s history and enjoying some fun activities along the way. It may have been very cold 🥶, but everyone wrapped up warm and made the most of the experience!

More recently, the Junior Section took part in an interesting session learning about “What is Money?” and its early origins. The activity was led by Hannah, Education Officer from the Bank of Scotland Museum, giving the boys a great insight into the history of money.

A busy few weeks at the 41st Edinburgh Boys' Brigade!

Well done and good luck to the boys who entered photos into the Battalion’s Water of Leith Photography Competition — we look forward to seeing the results!

Company Section also focused on communication and teamwork, tackling the Alien Shoe Task and even trying blind driving of remote-controlled cars.

There was also time for some fun with Pancake Friday 😎 and the long-awaited return of Gaga Ball, which proved as popular as ever!

Pancake Friday, actually! 😎

February was another busy month for the 25th Edinburgh Boys' Brigade. Alongside their usual games and activities, boys tried making paper helicopters and enjoyed time in the kitchen baking scones and burgers. Company Section also headed to East Lothian for their February camp, with highlights including a walk up Traprain Hill, a visit to Dunbar and swimming, homemade pizzas and cookies, and a film night. Back at the hall after the holidays, sessions included Winter Olympics-themed colouring, Lego building and continued progress in drill practice.

📣 Edinburgh Announced as a Host City! 🎲🏙️

We’re proud to confirm that Edinburgh will be a Host City for the upcoming Boys’ Brigade Monopoly Challenge, taking place on Saturday 3rd October 2026.

Designed for Company & Seniors age groups, this exciting challenge is inspired by the classic board game Monopoly. Teams of 3–6 young people will compete against the clock to visit as many properties as possible on their chosen city’s Monopoly board — putting their planning, teamwork and decision-making skills to the test.

🎯 It’s a fantastic opportunity for Companies to take part in a national event while exploring the city in a fun and engaging way.
