Our readings today detail how God blesses those who are faithful, healing the sick and sinners. These stories remind us of the importance of faith, giving us time to redirect our eyes to God, to slow down, and be nourished by His love and light. Jesus loved the sinners, and calls us to worship and be healed by the Father.

Thank you for joining us in worship today!

In reflecting on Genesis 1: 1-2: 4a and Psalm 8, we celebrate our belief in the Holy Trinity - God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We rejoice and give thanks for God's blessings this Sunday.

As we read Phillipians 4: 4-7 and Acts 2: 1-21 on Sunday, we reflect on God's word.

Previously the Holy Spirit was seen to typically be bestowed upon leaders of the church. That the Holy Spirit descended upon a group shows the power of the community, and how with the Holy Spirit we can uplift our Church and heal. Pentecost reminds us of God's transformative power and strength.

Today we come together to celebrate Pentecost, when Christ's followers gathered and the Holy Spirit descended upon them with tongues of fire, as described in Acts 2: 1-21. As they were filled with the light of the Lord, they went out and proclaimed His love.

God reminds us in Phillipians 4: 4-7 to not be anxious in dark times, to leave our troubles in His hands, and to rejoice in Him always.

In the current day it can be easy to lose sight of God and His plans for us, to forget His awe-inspiring power and grace. Pentecost gives us a wonderful opportunity to recentre our focus, calm our anxieties, and lift up our voices to worship Him.
