Our Guild Summer Tea Party on Wednesday last week was made possible by many hands working together to create something warm, welcoming, and special.

From preparing tables and flowers, to baking, serving tea, and making sure every detail felt inviting, there was so much care behind the scenes.

It was a lovely afternoon of friendship, laughter, and conversation – and a reminder that hospitality is often found in these thoughtful acts of kindness.

Last Tuesday at toddler group, we shared the story of Jesus asking Peter, “Do you love me?” – and talked simply about how good it is to know we are loved, and how important it is to tell others that we love them too.

There was such joy and excitement as the children confidently shared just how loved they are – and all the people they love in return: grown-ups, siblings, friends, pets, and more!

To finish, we made beautiful heart crafts to take home and share with someone special. A lovely reminder that love is something to be shared.

Our toddler groups run smoothly most weeks, but behind every session is a team of helpers, each bringing their own gifts.

Some welcome people at the door, some make tea, some set up the hall, some lay out the toys, some tidy the mess, and some simply take time to listen and encourage.

In 1 Corinthians 12, we are reminded that we all have different gifts, and each one matters. Church life—and community life—works best when everyone brings what they can. 🎁

No role is too small—it takes many people to make it all run smoothly!

Our Adult Crafts and Mindfulness group returned from a break with a lovely reminder that sometimes it’s not about skill, but simply about being willing to give something a go and staying open to new experiences.

Last week we tried paint pouring on wooden coasters—a practical example of letting go of control a little and seeing what happens.

There was something quite special in that—being surprised by the beauty that can come from a little chaos, and finding joy in the unexpected.

A relaxed evening of creativity, conversation, and a little space to pause. 🎨

As part of church last Sunday, people were asked to reflect on what they (A) appreciate about church, what the (B) best thing is about church and what they would like to (C) change. What a good reminder to stop and think about the everyday things we have around us – what we value and where we can help things change and grow.

Today, as part of a primary school assembly, we're thinking about the idea "Look for the good, be the good."

In the story of the road to Emmaus, two people were walking with Jesus but didn’t recognise him at first—sometimes we miss what is right in front of us. 🧐

It makes us think about everyday life too. If you watched the marathon last Sunday, there were stewards helping people, cleaners keeping spaces tidy, and crowds simply cheering others on. 🧹

Sometimes we need to pause and notice the good around us. And in small ways, we can always be the good too—saying thank you, helping someone, offering encouragement, or simply being kind. 💐

Small things matter.

After big excitement normal things can seem harder, but the story of Easter stays with us and encourages us to keep going step by step, just like the donkey on Palm Sunday – expertly made here by Wardie Church toddlers.
