St Germain's Church, Edgbaston

St Germain's Church, Edgbaston We are a church seeking to grow faith, hope and love in multicultural Birmingham. Join us on Sunday at 10.30am!

Our church is part of the Church of England in the vibrant multicultural city of Birmingham. We seek to follow Jesus by living-out the values of his kingdom and his cross in our community. We look to the Holy Spirit to be at work among us for this task. We don’t always get it right, but we endeavour to grow and learn and work out our Christian lives together. At St Germain’s you will find a church

that is

- varied – young and old, from many different races and backgrounds, single and in families, those with an established faith in Jesus and those wanting to explore for the first time.
- rooted in the local area, and reaching out to that area. We also welcome those who travel from further afield.
- a community of grace and forgiveness.
- hospitable – most events at St Germain’s involve food somewhere!
- worshipping together in a way that reflects our mixed congregation.
- shaped by the Bible which is read and explained every week and applied to how we live.
- looking to the Holy Spirit to be at work among us day by day, drawing us out to be whole –life disciples.

As we approach Easter, let us pray for Christians in the Holy Land who are suffering because of the ongoing conflicts across the Middle East. Pray that they may be able to celebrate Easter with their friends and families. Pray that peace will prevail in the cradle of our faith. Pray that the the forgiving, loving grace of God will be know in that place.

🙏 Midweek Prayer: Carrying Each Other Together
Taking a moment today to bring the requests from our church prayer board into the light. Whether you are in a season of peace or a season of struggle, we stand with you.

Today, we specifically pray for:

Strength in the Workplace: For those in the final weeks of a job probation, feeling the weight of targets and the stress of the unknown. We pray for clarity, favor, and a peace that surpasses all understanding as they find their feet.

Healing & Comfort: We lift up our friend, M, and all those facing severe health challenges. May they feel God’s presence as a source of strength and restoration today.

Protection & Justice: We pray that any plans of darkness or harm against our community be dismantled. We ask for God’s light to break through, turning difficult situations around for His good.

Whatever is on your heart this Wednesday, know that you are not alone.

"The Lord is near to all who call on him." — Psalm 145:18

🙏 Midweek Prayer: A Cry for Peace 🕯️

Today our hearts are heavy. As a congregation, we are blessed to include several Iranian Christian families. Their burden is our burden.

Today, we ask you to stop what you are doing for just two minutes to pray for the ongoing conflict in Iran and the Middle East.

Pray for Protection: For the innocent civilians caught in the crossfire.

Pray for Comfort: For families, like those among us, worried about loved ones back home.

Pray for the Church: That our brothers and sisters would be beacons of light and hope in the darkness.

Pray for Wisdom: For leaders, that they would seek paths of peace.

If you feel called to pray more deeply, please join us for our regular monthly prayer gathering. This month, we are dedicating the entire time to interceding for the Middle East.
