Thursday 4th June 2026 - A Prayer for Living in Harmony and In Peace

Good and gracious God,
who loves and delights in all people,
we stand in awe before you,
knowing that the spark of life within each person
is the spark of your divine life.

Differences among cultures and races are beautiful multi-coloured manifestations of your light.
May our hearts and minds be open to celebrate
similarities and differences among our sisters and brothers.

Send your healing and reconciling Spirit throughout the world, to bind the wounds created by racism and racial hatred,
and to promote understanding, justice, and love.

We place our hopes for racial harmony in our committed action
and in your living presence in our neighbour.

May all peoples live in peace!
Amen.

Dear God, we abound in hope by the power of Your Spirit.

Fill us with all joy and peace as we believe in you.

Holy Spirit, empower our lives to produce Your fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

Goodness, what a daunting list, Lord!

Only through Your power can we live in holiness and victory.

Convict us, fill us, and empower us.

Amen.

A Trinity Reflection
May the Father command it, may the Son arrange it, and may the Holy Spirit create in us the yearning to do only your will. Fill the hearts of those who are against us.

Tuesday 2nd June 2026 - Empower us with inner strength prayer

Creator of everything in heaven and on earth,
we pray that from your glorious, unlimited resources
You will empower us with inner strength through Your Spirit.

May our roots grow deep into Your love and keep us strong.
And if, beneath the soil, they become entangled, help us to unloose them from each other, to absorb new life and water and Love.

Challenge us to the roots of our being.

As we experience the incomprehensible love of Christ, may we be made complete, whole and brimming over with all of the fullness of life and power that comes from You.

Amen.

Monday 1st June 2026 - The Power of Your Gifts Prayer

Holy Spirit, we thank You for the special powers and abilities You have given to us. Help us too to realise that you are unbelievably close to us….making our hands skilful and your people holy.



You are the source of all of the many different spiritual gifts that You distribute to believers so that we can help each other and build up the church.

Empower us, we pray, at this time (with the shape of your church changing forever if we are to stay and to grow…) with Your gifts of your Spirit as we move into Trinity.

But most of all, Lord, empower us to love you with all our heart, soul and mind and to love others as we love ourselves. Amen.

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second is like it; you shall love your neighbour as yourself. The whole law and the prophets depend on these two great commandments.” (Matthew 22: 37-40)

Sunday 31st May 2026 - a sabbath prayer for this week.

Lord of all that is and what has yet to emerge,
Fill your people with a longing for unity.

Help us see the possibility of a future where we stay united,
committed to you and the Gospel of Christ Jesus.

Enable us to see the glory in being together as the Body of Christ,
a church for moving beyond ourselves and into your grace.

Let your Spirit enter into our midst once more,
calling forth growth and action where debate and lethargy threaten to overshadow.

Pour out your love upon all those who gather for holy conferencing.

Let us feel that tangible connection to you,
And then enact it with one another.

May we be enriched, enlivened, and edified by our faith in you.

May this time be as sacred as any Sunday,
and as amazing as that first time the Holy Spirit touched your people on Pentecost.

For your honour and glory, always and everywhere,

Amen.

Saturday 30th May 2026 - A prayer for love.

Jeremiah 31:3 I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.

Father, you tell us that we should always love each other. But how can we love someone we don’t like? How do you get over that hurdle in your heart.

Perhaps there are people too who feel like that about me.

Help me to remember, Lord, that you love me.

Help me to feel that, a deep-down feeling.

Of love
Of acceptance
Of knowing I am loved…even if I don’t love myself?

You, Lord God, are the essence and truth of what love is and means.

So many people live their lives without love and that, Lord God of Love, must break your own heart of love.
Show us how we can love more.

More deeply, more completely and more randomly, In the some of your Son, Amen.

Friday 29th May 2026 – journey forward

Today, Lord, I remember that safe, quiet harbour of my heart where you are within me.

I am frightened to emerge out into a faster world again. But, with each step, I know I have to leave my comfort zone, and go further into that unpaved path of your will for me.

I know I shouldn’t fear, but it creeps into my consciousness.

I know that you are with me, and that you uphold me when I have a wobble.

Show me where you would have me go.

Tell me what you would have me speak.

Help my hands find their place in your service.

Bless me with your light,
and I will share it with others.

I journey with you to the gates of the Kingdom to come.

Thank you for going before me and working within me.

Amen.

Thursday 28th May 2026 - a prayer for me.

Gracious God, you are so good to me, I should thank you much more often.

Because, out of my brokenness, you have given me healing. Out of my weakness, you have given me strength.

I am becoming something new and holy-er because your grace is at work in me.

Transform me so I can leave all bitterness and anger behind and be able to walk into the future with open arms, and a heart ready to love more fully.

You open doors. I used to see them as gates, but now I see that they are sanctuaries.

Each door your Spirit opens before me, let me find something new as I walk in. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Wednesday 27th May 2026 - a prayer for peace for our world

“And I will grant peace in the land” (Leviticus 26:6 NRS).

Remember your promise, O God.

Creation cries out from violence and bloodshed, from evil words and hatred.

We wound each other,
Help us. Deliver us into your peace. One that lasts and heals our world.
Wars cross continents.

We lift up our cries to you, for you alone can end these conflicts.
As we pause to pray today and still ourselves before you, in that stillness, in the silence, we get a taste of your peace.

Cultivate in us a passion for the ways that lead to justice and reconciliation.

Let us put aside weapons and words of war.

Hammer our hearts, remould them into vessels of tranquillity and Christ’s truth.

We wait for the day when we will gather together with you, when all acts of evil will cease, and there will finally, eternally be peace.
May this be done in accordance with your will and your word.
