Do you study a sport related degree?
Do you regularly play sport at uni?
Well new Christians in Sport leader Stephanie Chan at Sussex uni would like to invite you to join her group. More details below in her message:
"Hello,
How are you? I hope you are doing well in such tricky times.
I am Stephanie, the leader of the Christians In Sport (CiS) University Group of the Academic Year 2020-2021. I am writing to you to introduce the new CiS of the University of Sussex and Brighton, and kindly ask for the Christian Union and the churches for help and support.
First, let me introduce you to the CiS University Group of Sussex and Brighton. The Christians in Sport in Sussex and Brighton uni is new, there wasn’t an official one before. THERE IS NOW!! How exciting! We are, thus trying to expand our group in the coming year,
develop a Christians in Sport community in the university, support and encourage each other throughout the year while training and playing hard in our teams and spread the great news of Jesus with our sports friends!
Our purpose based on Colossians 4:2-6:
Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. Be wise in the way you act
toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.
And we, as Christians in sports, ‘pray’, ‘play’ and ‘say’ ‘together’.
- *PRAY* for sports people who don’t know Jesus yet;
- *PLAY* in recognition of the gifts God has given us, in a way that demonstrates our
faith to those around us;
- ️*SAY* the good news of Jesus with sports friends;
- *TOGETHER* encourage one another and help each other share the Good News of Jesus at our university.
I hope it makes sense so far. 😄
We would really appreciate it if you can help and support our little Christians in Sport this year. Please pray for our group too, so more Christians in sport join our group, be supported and encouraged to share their faith in their sports team.
