St Mary's Eastbourne Church Bell Ringers

St Mary's Eastbourne Church Bell Ringers Ringing on Sundays from 9 to 9.40 am. Practising on Tuesdays from 7.30 to 9. Learners from 7 to 7.30 by arrangement. Visitors most welcome.

We have 8 bells in F 15-2-22. If arriving late for Tuesday practice please ring bell suspended from the tower’s north window.

A visiting band will be attempting to ring a peal on our bells this Thursday, 10th September from 10.30am.
A peal is a continuous, traditional performance of change ringing that involves at least 5000 change sequences without repetition, and takes approximately 3hours to complete.

Our bells are back in action!

Bellhangers, Whites of Appleton, returned to St Mary's this week to continue the work on our bells. The overhaul is now complete and they will ring out this weekend.
They will be ringing for a wedding on Saturday afternoon, and on Sunday for morning service and Choral Evensong.

Yesterday, we helped Whites Church Bellhangers to dismantle some of the bell components to take away to be overhauled.
They will be back in a couple of weeks for the refit.

On Monday 15th and Tuesday 16th June bellhangers from Whites of Appletons will be carrying out work on out bells. Some components are being taken back to their Works to overhaul them.
Sadly, this means our bells will be out of action for a couple of weeks until Whites return to complete the work (date to be advised).

Our bells are ringing on Thursday afternoon, 11th June at 2pm to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the founding of Mothers' Union by Mary Sumner.

They will also be ringing on Saturday 13th June 4pm to 5.15pm by a visiting band.
