🎉 New Youth Space Opens in Retford

A brand‑new after‑school space for young people has officially opened in Retford.

The Overflow Lounge, located behind The Well Baptist Church on Hospital Road, has been created with support from the Retford Town Centre Partnership Board, The Well, The Elizabethan Academy and Retford Oaks Academy.

Thanks to £25k of government funding, the building has been fully refurbished with a new kitchen, fresh layout, modern décor, lighting and equipment — all shaped by feedback from local students.

The Overflow Lounge offers a safe, welcoming place for young people to relax, play games, enjoy snacks and socialise, with opportunities to help run sessions and shape future activities.

The project has been supported through the Town Centre Streetscaping Fund, allocated by Bassetlaw District Council.

The lounge will initially open after school on Wednesdays, with plans to expand in the future.

We are very proud that the wonderful people behind these musicals call Retford 'home' and choose to worship here at the Well.

We serve a creative God - the One who spoke and creation itself exploded into life! What an opportunity, then, to use creative ways to share the Good News of Jesus.
