4th East Kilbride Boys' Brigade

On Friday, our Anchors were taught all about the plastic pollution in the sea and how it affects the health of Fish. They all made healthy fish then stuck plastic on the fish’s bodies. We also welcomed our newest officer Laura who had the boys playing some new and really fun games. A great night was had by all.

Our Juniors learned about fair trade and started thier posters for the fair trade competition and finished off with some tennis football.

Our Company and Senior’s started some basic drill before moving onto a taster session of some upcoming national competitions. This included chess, fifa, football and badminton amongst others.

For our first week back, our Anchors made their own paper chain with facts about them. We then joined up all the boys chains to make one big one. This represented all our boys that make up the Anchors and this chain is now hanging up our the church. After that it was full on dodge ball.

Our Juniors, made sure their badges we on properly, we also took pictures of the boys in our new football sponsorship strips and finished with a game of punishment dodge ball.

Our Company and Seniors got to know each other with a game of ‘Ice Breaker Pong’ where they had to answer a question about themselves for every successful ball that landed in a cup. We then finished off with some dodge ball and long ball.

We’re enrolling tonight (28th August) for the upcoming session with our first full night back next Friday (4th September).

All ages are welcome from P1 to S6 and we look forward to welcoming back familiar faces and hope to see new ones as well!

We believe The Boys’ Brigade can make a real difference in a young person’s life, helping them develop the skills, resilience and mindset they need not just for school, but for a lifetime. 🌟

⭐️Anchor and Juniors Spotlight⭐️

Over the last session, our Anchors (P1-P3) and our Juniors (P4-P6) got up to many, many activities.

Some of these include:

A joint visit to Blair Drummond Safari Park
A visit to Park farm to learn all about cows and how milk ends up in their home.
A talk all about ‘Life in China’ from one of our parents
A Scottish themed night to celebrate Burns Night including some home cooking from our very own officers.
Unihock and indoor curling competitions
Commemorating Remembrance Day
A visit from ‘Hoots and Owls’ where the boys got to meet and learn all bout different types of owl.

And that’s just to name a few!
