4th East Kilbride Boys' Brigade We believe that empowering children and young people is important Anchors meet on a Friday night from 6.30pm to 7.45pm. This is for boys who are in P1-3.

The BB engages with over 50,000 children and young people providing opportunities to meet together in their communities and engage in a range of fun and developmental activities. Juniors meet on a Friday night from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. This is for boys who are in P4-6. Company and Seniors meet on a Friday night from 7.00pm to 10.00pm. This is for boys who are in P7-S6. What are the Boys Brigade doing today? Each week The Boys' Brigade works with thousands of young people, many of whom have no other connection with the Church. Today we are working with over 60,000 children & young people in over 1500 companies (groups) in the UK & Republic of Ireland every week. The Boys' Brigade provides a balanced programme of activities for children and young people from 5 to 18 years old. These resources have been developed to help volunteer youth leaders work in a relevant and creative way. We hope through these programmes they will be able to make a positive contribution to a young person's life and be able to share their faith.

Last weekend our Juniors, Company and Seniors took a trip down to Winmarleigh Hall near Preston for a weekend long camp.

The boys (and staff) took part in a wide range of activities from Canoeing to Disc Golf to Archery Tag and everything in between.

It was a great opportunity for our boys to spend time together out with our normal setting while also getting to chance to do a wide range of activities that they may not get to do normally with the quote of the weekend from one of our company boys who said ‘I’m really glad I came to camp. I didn’t think I would have been able to climb the climbing wall but I did and I’m really proud of myself.’

A wonderful time was had by all boys and staff while we were away and it was a lovely way to cap off a very busy year.

We hope everyone had a well deserved break over the summer and we cant wait to see you all next session!

On Friday night we held our annual (and some may even say world famous) fundraising quiz in Moncreiff Parish Church hosted again by our very own Quiz Master Kenny!

A great night was had by all 20 teams who participated with a special mention for our winning team ‘We thought this was bingo’.

A massive thank you has to go firstly to all of the individuals and businesses that donated prizes for our raffles and auction that help to really make the night that extra bit special.

Although the final total is still being confirmed, we’re delighted to say that we have passed over £2000 raised which will be put towards more equipment, events and activities for boys of all sections.

We have also posted a QR code on our page which will link to a feedback form that we would be very grateful if you could take the time to fill out.

We can’t wait to see you all again next year!

On Friday night we celebrated our boys achievements with our annual prize giving ceremony.

Not only did all boys receive their badges that they have worked throughout the year to earn, but they also received trophies for best boy in every age group along with best uniform for the Juniors, Company and Seniors.

Furthermore, we also had a rendition of Flower of Scotland in order to send our Scotland team to the World Cup with our best wishes.

A massive thank you also goes out to all boys, parents, carers and guardians for their incredible support over the last year. We hope you have a wonderful summer and we can’t wait to see you all next session.

Finally, we have our world famous quiz taking place on Friday 29th of May of which tickets are on sale now! We hope to see you all there and ready to quiz - keep your eyes on our socials for more information.

Today almost 30 of our Anchors and Juniors had a trip to Blair Drummond. We had an absolute ball!

We saw lots and lots of animals, we saw Dinosaurs, we had a shot in a train, we had a shot in the climbing frames. To finish it off we went to the Birds of Prey show where they flew that close to us a large vultures wing tipped Mr McKays hat!

Everyone agreed we all had a totally brilliant day out!
