The loss of the Bishop has delayed the process but it’s good to know the great and the good are still keeping the ideas warm.

Diocesan Moderators and Moderators Elect met in Surrey last week, for two days of formation, discussion and discernment on the continued progress of the Pastoral Plan “The Word Who is Life” across the Diocese.

The gathering - which was also attended by clergy and staff from our diocesan central office - was a chance to reflect on opportunities for mission and evangelisation, while exploring practical next steps in prayer, formation and mission - including building strong clergy teams, parish councils and lay leadership teams, and developing a parish vision.

Taizé isn't just the (wonderful) music but also joy in community. Any young adults from our Parish would be inspired by such a visit!

Join the Young Adults of the Lay Community of St Benedict for a pilgrimage to Taizé from 2–9 August 2026 ✨

A week of prayer, silence, community, worship, and reflection with thousands of young adults from around the world. We’ll be travelling together by train from London.

Taizé is a unique place to step away from the noise of everyday life and encounter God through simplicity, friendship, and meditative prayer.

Open to young adults aged 18–35.

The East Grinstead Defibrillators Society is pleased to announce that Our Lady and St Peter’s Catholic Church has very generously paid for a new defibrillator to be available for public use in East Grinstead. The maintenance required to keep the defibrillator in service into the future will be managed by the E G Defibrillators Society, with financial support from the Church.

We are also very grateful to Valley Builders Ltd for agreeing to host the storage cabinet on the wall of their building. This site (opposite the Fire Station) is ideal, being highly visible from both London Road and Station Road.

This brings to 8 the number of defibrillators that the East Grinstead Defibrillators Society maintains in and around the town for public use, 24/7.

These 'pop-up' adoration chapels have inspired the Cameroon people to greater courage and faith as they struggle with ethnic tensions. They are extra chapels, often built outside of the church, often haphazardly, but with the fervent desire to expose the blessed sacrament to all peoples, even as they pass by.

A reminder too that we have our own adoration at 11am today - and every Friday - at OLSP.

According to EWTN Vatican, this was one of the most moving parts of the Holy Father’s trip, as he joined the local Church in prayer amid the region’s suffering.
