The CAFE Together Project

The CAFE Together Project Takeaways which replicate our eat in meals are available, but MUST be ordered in advance. We provide a hot meal and a cuppa for just £1 per person.

The CAFE Together project is a volunteer run charity that serves drinks from 11:00am and delicious hot meals every Thursday 11.30am till 12:30pm to the local community! We open the doors of Easington Colliery Methodist church every Thursday at 11:00am for tea and coffee, From 11:30am until 12:30pm a two course meal prepared and cooked by our volunteers is served at a cost of £1.00

lcome to come and enjoy food and friendship. Vegetarian and Vegan meals can be arranged but advanced bookings must be made. Our credit union representative Kath is here every week from 11:30am


We also provide links to the Credit Union, East Durham Trust and FoodBank, the Social Welfare Centre and others. We are open to all in the area, especially young families hoping to meet other young families and looking to build relationships within the community! EVERYONE IS WELCOME

We're back open as normal this week and will be serving a hot main course and hot dessert. It's that sort of weather now. Look forward to seeing you on Thursday for food and fellowship.

Due to some unexpected building work being carried out in the Chapel we have decided not to open this week due to hygiene reasons. The plasterers won't get finished until early evening on Wednesday. That doesn't give us sufficient time to deep clean and sanitise the building to make it sufficiently hygienic to prepare and serve food. Apologies for any inconvenience BUT we will be open again next week. If you know of anyone who isn't on Facebook, will you please pass this message on to them. Thanks

We're open again this week serving tea and coffee from 11.00am and food between 11.30am and 12.30pm. As the weather is becoming Autumnal, we'll be back to serving hot meals again. Our salad bar during the Summer seemed to be popular and we'll be offering that again next Summer. Look forward to seeing you on Thursday for food and fellowship.

Please note that we are closed on September 5th whilst there is some internal building work going on but we are open again each week from September 12th. We're offering a hot soup as a main course this week as the weather seems to have turned Autumnal.

On Thursday we are offering tea and coffee from 11.00am then serving food between 11.30am - 12.30pm. This week we're serving pasta spirals in a Bolognese Sauce with garlic bread followed by ice cream with fruit. Come and join us at the Welcome Centre Seaside Lane for food, fellowship and friendship.

A reminder that we are back in the Chapel on Thursday. It has been refurbished as a communities resource and is now called The Welcome Centre. Our thanks go to the Church of the Ascension who welcomed us to use their Church Hall to allow us to continue serving the community when the Chapel was closed.

A reminder that we will be at the Church of the Ascension Church Hall on Thursday for the final time and we will be returning to the Chapel, which is now called the Welcome Centre, on Thursday 2nd May. We give our sincere thanks to the Church of the Ascension for welcoming us to use their Church Hall whilst the Chapel was being refurbished.

The repair in the kitchen has been completed so we are open again on Thursday
Look forward to seeing you on Thursday for bangers, mash and beans followed with trifle. It looks like we may be back in the Chapel in the first week of May.

Due to some problems with a wall in the kitchen that can't be repaired until Thursday afternoon we have to cancel this week unfortunately. Please let people know about this if you know they don't use Facebook. Sorry about this BUT back to normal next Thursday. Look forward to seeing you next week.
