Todays Prayer for the Day - The Second Sunday after Trinity

Lord, you have taught us
that all our doings without love are nothing worth:
send your Holy Spirit
and pour into our hearts that most excellent gift of love,
the true bond of peace and of all virtues,
without which whoever lives is counted dead before you.
Grant this for your only Son Jesus Christ’s sake,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen.

SUMMER CHARITY CONCERT AT ST. BRIDGET'S - A TRIUMPH - RAISING £1200.

Grateful thanks to the Musical Director, Alison Ward and the Dyserth Community Choir for their fabulous concert on Monday evening.
Playing to a packed church - the choir had the audience 'singing along' to classics from our past including ABBA, the Beatles, the Carpenters - ending with a beautiful rendition of 'Calonlan - sung acapella not a dry eye in the house!.

Entrance was free - the audience being asked to make a donation to the Osborne Trust and St. Bridget's Church.
We thank everyone for their generosity and look forward to welcoming the return of the choir for a Christmas Concert. - More to be announced.

NB Osborne Trust - the Charity provides free emotional and practical support to children and young people whose parents are diagnosed with incurable cancer, receiving treatment - or have sadly died. Providing activities such as trips to farms, animal parks, cinema, 10 pin bowling.

St. Bridget's Church - beautiful 15th Century Church in the heart of the Dyserth lower village - relies heavily on the financial support of the congregation, and fundraising to pay a quota sum of £30,000 per year to the Diocese for the upkeep and running of the church. Provides Sunday and other services including weddings, funerals and baptisms - plus pastoral care and support on request.

Todays Prayer for the Day - The First Sunday after Trinity

O God,
the strength of all those who put their trust in you,
mercifully accept our prayers
and, because through the weakness of our mortal nature
we can do no good thing without you,
grant us the help of your grace,
that in the keeping of your commandments
we may please you both in will and deed;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen.
