A special day at Durham Cathedral 🙌

On Friday, we celebrated the completion of the Cuthbert Centre for Pilgrimage and Prayer, welcoming supporters, donors, volunteers and community representatives to explore the new space and mark this important milestone

Guests enjoyed speeches, a blessing from the Bishop of Durham, and the unveiling of a commemorative plaque by long-standing volunteer Lillian Groves MBE

We're looking forward to welcoming pilgrims and visitors from Spring 2027, with our ongoing pilgrimage programme, and a Quiet Day and Open Day taking place later this month

The project was made possible thanks to the generosity of the Friends of Durham Cathedral and the Ardeola Charitable Trust

It's been a week since a group of pilgrims returned from our first-ever 6-day pilgrimage!

Starting in Hexham, they made their way towards Durham, returning each evening to stay at Ushaw Historic House, Chapels & Gardens
