St Cuthbert's Church, Durham Friendly Parish Church (Anglican ) close to the Cartologist Pub at the top of North Road

St Cuthbert's Church is a lively and friendly Christian community just to the North of the City of Durham. We meet to worship together every Sunday at 11am, and also have services at 8am and 6pm (1st Sunday of each month). On the first Sunday of each month we meet at 11am for "Come and Praise": worship which is lively, fun and for all ages, from the very young to the very old! As well as our Sunda

Congratulations to Bishop of Durham Designate Rick Simpson who visited St. Cuthbert's yesterday to meet members of the team who brought about the Baby Memorial in our churchyard. We also welcomed Joanne Nicholson, the chaplain from University Hospital North Durham, Area Dean Rev Barnaby Huish, Councillor Liz Brown and students and staff from the College of St. Hild and St. Bede whose choir are worshiping with us whilst their campus is rebuilt also joining us were clergy and students from St. Nicholas' in the market place.

The Parish Hall, built in 1971, relies on ageing gas and electric heaters that are now unreliable with no replacement parts. Daily use makes dependable heating vital. Urgent church repairs diverted resources. The hall heating is now a priority.

Thank you to everyone who came to the Crib Service yesterday! It was wonderful to welcome over 100 people of all ages into our now warm church - thanks to the new heating system.

Thank you to everyone involved in the Christmas Fair on Saturday at the Parish Hall, visitors, stall helpers, refreshment providers alike. A wonderful event! And we all raised £2300 towards the new heating system for the Parish Hall!
