For the Year of St Francis, twelve people and a dog made a mini-pilgrimage from St Cuthbert's to our friary. They had a time of prayer and reflection in our chapel, with an opportunity to venerate a relic of St Francis.

TRANSITUS OF ST FRANCIS
7pm Friday 3rd October
Every year, on the Eve of the Feast of St Francis, we commemorate his death in a service called 'the Transitus', that is 'the Passing'. You are warmly invited to join us in St Godric's Church for this time of prayer, readings, and reflection. There will also be refreshments afterwards.

'The Way of Creation', in the Friary garden 29th June 2025
The friars invite you to prayer and meditation on the book of Genesis which will take place in the Friary garden. We will meet at the Friary for tea & coffee at 4.15 pm and then move into the garden.
This 'Via Creationis' happens regularly in many parishes across the world following Pope Francis encyclical Laudato Si'. It is a series of seven meditations and prayers. We will reflect on aspects of creation and the suffering it endures at the hands of human destruction. We will pray for the redemption of creation and reflect on what we can do to save it.
