We were saddened to hear that Matthew Biggs has fallen asleep in Jesus. Known across the UK as a gardener and broadcaster on Gardeners’ Question Time, he was also a member of our church here in Dunstable, and our brother in Christ.

Matthew spent his life cultivating beauty and encouragement through gardening, while openly speaking of the faith that carried him through cancer treatment. As Paul wrote, “the body is sown in weakness; it is raised in power” (1 Corinthians 15:42–44), a fitting reminder for one who spent his life sowing and nurturing growth.

Though we sorrow, we do not sorrow without hope. Matthew now rests, awaiting the return of Jesus and the resurrection to life.

Our love and prayers are with his family at this sad time. “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.”
