Let’s wind the clock back a couple of days, to Friday evening’s fundraising event, in aid of Duns and District Parishes.

An Auction of predominantly Watercolour Paintings by Elizabeth Stobie, had been organised. This special occasion followed a successful Exhibition of various other local artists’ work too, on the Thursday and Friday daytime, for the community to view.

This is a financial update for you now, which was announced by Moira Lugget at this morning’s Church Service. This all resulted in an impressive total amount being raised - £1,200!!

To set the scene, there was a communal fun filled ‘vibe’ everywhere, created by a very adept, well known, retired auctioneer, plus the bidders, who, in their excitement, added to this hype. Ultimately, things got quite competitive (in a good humoured sense) - what a joyous ambience in the hall.

Special thanks to Elizabeth, but sincere thanks to everyone who contributed and supported this event in whatever way - D&DP are eternally grateful. Your generosity always surpasses our expectations.

Blessings to each and every one of you 🙏🏻

PS - The wine and cheese went down a treat too 🙏🏻
