St Paul’s 150th Celebratory Service – Live stream details

We have arranged for the service to be live streamed via the Mothers’ Union page (this page!). So, if you were unable to join at the cathedral, you can still be part of this joyous celebration. You may want to watch together with other members.

The service starts at 5pm UK time on 10 June (it may start 10 minutes later, depending how long it takes the congregation to be seated!). Make sure your page notifications are on to get the message when we go live for this special occasion.

Rogation Sunday, the sixth Sunday of Easter (five weeks after Easter Sunday), is a day for asking for God’s blessing on agriculture, industry, and the environment. Rooted in the Latin rogatio ("asking"), this day initiates a period (Rogationtide) for praying for fruitful harvests and stewardship of creation.

Rogation Processions: Traditionally, churches walk in procession around the parish boundaries, fields, or property, praying for protection over the land, crops, and community.

Blessing of the Fields/Seeds: Priests may bless seeds, garden tools, or soil to be used for the coming season's planting.

Community Prayer: It is a time for focusing on urban and rural development, giving thanks for food, and praying for those in farming or commerce.

A short open air service at the top of Benbradagh looking out over our Parishes was held this evening led by Rev Brian Robinson
