Last night we recieved some news regarding the future of Girls' Brigade Scotland which I want to share with you now.

Girls' Brigade Scotland (GBS) in its current format will cease from 31 May 2027. However, GBS companies will have the option to join with GB England & Wales in a new organisation to be called GB Great Britain from 1 June 2027.

For us at 20th Dundee Girls' Brigade this is sad news as we are strong and healthy company, as part of GBS and have been for 63 years. There are of course lots of mixed emotions and we need to process what this means for us.

Whatever the future holds, I want to make it clear, 20th Dundee will be back bigger and better than ever in August 2026 ready for our final session as part of GBS.

I want to assure parents, friends and family, 20th Dundee GB is in no way closing - We, and those before us have built an AMAZING company, full of strong and inspirational people who have gone on to achieve so many things, and this WILL continue in some format, to serve Menzieshill and the wider community.

We have an incredible group of girls, leaders and supporters, and we will be here for many years to come, things might just look at little differently in the future.

We will email all parents in due course, I just wanted everyone to hear it from me before it was released nationally.

Thank you to everyone who came last night to the junior parents night! And thanks to all parents who joined in with the games too 😃

That’s us now finished at GB for this term and we hope to see you all again next session starting after the summer hols. Have a wonderful summer and enjoy all your family time together!

We will be back in touch nearer the time to give you next term details but for now enjoy your time off ☀️

💜❤️ Explorers and Brigaders ❤️💜

Last night we joined forces for a visit from the Animal Man! The girls had a great time meeting Mrs Grey the chicken, Elvis the guinea pig, Gordon the ghecko, Michelle the tortoise, Banjo the bearded dragon, Fluffy the snake..and a more! All the girls were brave (including the teenagers) and gave it a go! A fantastic way to end the session!

This week the girls started off learning all about frogs before guessing whether the picture was of a poisonous frog or not. Did you know frogs are older than Dinosaurs!! 😱

The girls then got the chance to make their own frogs, making sure we showcased their crazy tongues 🐸 💚
