Our purpose is to share the Gospel with clubbers and workers and help create a safer Dundee city centre. (Reaching Out to make Christ Known) Street Chaplains has worked on the streets of Dundee since 2000 and have gradually become an integral part of the city’s night time economy; assisting in the safety of the city and in the physical and spiritual care of its people. Over the last two decades th
e ministry has expanded into local clubs and festivals – including other towns – each comprised of a dedicated group of volunteers from the local churches and co-ordinated by founder Andrew Burns BEM. Since 2017, Street Chaplains has established itself in Northern Ireland in the towns of Lurgan, Co Armagh and Newcastle, Co Down. Dundee Street Chaplains operates every Friday and Saturday night from 10:45pm until late. We hand out leaflets and lollies, provide practical support for clubbers, workers, and beggars. We are also actively involved in DUNCAN (Dundee Co-ordinated Anticrime Network) and the Safe Zone Bus, and act as a reassuring presence for the vulnerable. If you spot us say ‘hello’.
