🌙 Breaking Fast, Building Bridges in Dundee
On 6th March, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Dundee welcomed guests from across the city to a special Community Iftar during the holy month of Ramadan.
In a time when the world often feels divided, the evening focused on bringing people together through dialogue, understanding and friendship.
The programme included a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and an introduction to the community by Dr Abdul Hayee, who spoke about the mission of the community to share the true message of Islam one of peace, harmony and service to humanity.
One of the highlights of the evening was a presentation by children from the community, who explained what Ramadan means to them and confidently answered questions from guests. Their enthusiasm and honesty were warmly received by everyone present.
We were also honoured to hear from Chris Law, who spoke about the challenges facing the world today and the importance of communities standing together in unity.
Ahmad Owusu Konadu reminded guests of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s guiding motto:
“Love for All, Hatred for None.”
As the sun set, the fast was broken with dates and water, followed by prayers and a shared meal. Guests continued conversations around the dinner tables, learning more about Ramadan and the peaceful teachings of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
Events like this show how simply coming together, sharing food, and having open conversations can help build stronger and more compassionate communities.
✨ Thank you to all our guests, speakers and volunteers who made the evening so special.
