Dromore Cathedral

Dromore Cathedral The Cathedral Church of Christ the Redeemer, Dromore Church of Ireland (Anglican/Episcopal).

Serving the community by bringing Christ’s compassion, love and hope of salvation to people of all ages. The Cathedral site has been a place of Christian worship for over 1500 years since 510AD when St Colman, a disciple of St Patrick founded a place of worship and built a church. The present Cathedral building dates from the time of Bishop Jeremy Taylor in the 1660s. Today, we aim to be a gospel-centred church with several services and many youth and adult organisations.

The next meeting of The Table is this Thursday at midday, concluding at 1:30pm.

The Table shouldn't be seen as a group for seniors, but rather as an opportunity for the whole community, all ages, to come together around a table and enjoy some food and fellowship.

Those who have attended have been richly blessed with good food, great chat and deep fellowship.

Should anyone require transport, please let Jill in the office know and she will make the necessary arrangements. Everyone is most welcome and everything is free of charge.

The Select Vestry has decided that the Annual Gift Day this Sunday, 14th June will be in support of the General Account.

The General Account pays staff salaries and the general running costs of the parish.

In the past year, the income to the General Account has declined, in part due to increased giving to the Development Account in light of the cost of the rewiring project in the Cathedral.

Please do support this appeal, if you can, as we seek to ensure the finances of the parish remain strong moving into the future. Those who support parish finances by way of envelopes will find an envelope in their box of envelopes, whereas those who support the parish by Standing Order will find an envelope with their magazine or through their letterbox.

A new Church of Ireland Child Safeguarding Policy was implemented on 7 May 2026 at General Synod and replaces Safeguarding Trust.

The policy is live and must be adhered to, so we urge parishes to make sure they are acquainted with the new policy in full.

This will include immediately updating posters and informing the parish panel and youth and children’s leaders of the new reporting procedures.

June training dates are available to book via Eventbrite: https://tinyurl.com/4fpa72hm

We’ve taken a look at how and when we are meeting to pray and, in an effort to make prayer more accessible to everyone, have decided to set aside the hour before the 10:00am service and 10:45am service and 30 minutes before the 11:30am service, to meet together as one to pray.

No one will be required to speak or pray, simply being present is an indication of your commitment to be part of this new movement of prayer. Corporate prayer matters and shouldn’t be seen as the preserve of a few, or indeed as a last resort.

With a forthcoming vacancy looming, it seems that prayer, particularly for the Parochial Nominators, has never been more important. Everyone welcome.

Today is Trinity Sunday.

Collect Two
Almighty and everlasting God,
you have given us your servants grace,
by the confession of a true faith,
to acknowledge the glory of the eternal Trinity
and in the power of the divine majesty to worship the Unity:
Keep us steadfast in this faith,
that we may evermore be defended from all adversities;
for you live and reign, one God, for ever and ever.

Amen
